Welcome back for our latest edition of St. Margaret’s e-Smart News for 2025. We will continue to explore and share a variety of e-Safety topics and websites during 2025 so please keep a look out and watch this space.

 

Term 3 Code Camp:

 

Dates for St. Margaret's next Code Camp for Spring 2025 will be organised now our building works have commenced to avoid any issues for future camps taking place.

 

Inform and Empower Parent Resources: - 

 

Inform & Empower is another e-Safety Trusted Provider which contains some great resources and video links for parents. A link to these resources can be found below. Various levels will be watching online webinars throughout Term 3 on various important topics. 

 

Some classrooms have viewed some fantastic online incursions from Inform and Empower so far during 2025.

e-Safety Parent Resources and Webinars: - 

 

Some fantastic e-Safety resources containing advice and tips can be found using this link. https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents It is highly recommended that parents have a look and explore the useful resources available from the eSafety Commissioner website. 

 

A webinar will be held on 28 August and 11 September on the topic of "Understanding AI Companions: What parents and carers need to know". 

 

AI chatbots and companions that act like friends or partners are becoming more common – but they can be risky to children and young people. 

 

This 45-minute webinar explores what AI companions are, the risks to look out for and how to talk to your child about them. It’s suitable for parents and carers of upper primary and high school students.

 

There are a variety of eSafety Webinars being held during Term 3 (2025). A list of the schedule is attached below.
