Foundation Enrolments 2026

If you have a child who is due to commence Foundation in 2026, enrolments are now open. The enrolment application form is attached for you to download.

Please email the completed form to Aberfeldie.ps@education.vic.gov.au

Enrolments are required to be submitted by Friday 25th July.

Enrolment confirmations will be sent out by 8th August.

Student Uniform Reminder

As part of our commitment to excellence in our school, we recently reminded students of our agreed school uniform expectations, as set out in our Student Dress Code Policy. These guidelines are in place to support student safety, a sense of belonging, and a positive school identity.

Here are the key points shared with students:

Tops: Blue short or long sleeve tops – with or without the school logo.

Jumpers/Jackets: Plain navy or logoed. Year 6 may wear the school hoodie.

Bottoms: Navy pants, leggings, shorts, skirts or skorts, as well as the school dress.

Hats/Beanies: Wide brim hats (plain or logoed) are required September–April. Beanies can be worn in winter. No hats or hoods are worn when in class.

Shoes: Any closed-toe shoes with a back. Runners are needed on PE days.

Jewellery: Only small studs or sleepers. No large earrings, rings, necklaces or bracelets for safety reasons.

Watches: Only simple time-telling watches. Smartwatches with apps, music, or messaging are not permitted during school hours and must be handed into the office or kept at home.

Nails: No fake nails. Nails should be kept short for safe participation in PE, sport and active activities.

Non-uniform Items: Local sports club gear, branded clothing (Nike jumpers), and non-school jumpers are not to be worn at school, unless in unforeseeable circumstances.

If your child is out of uniform, please send a note or message to the classroom teacher. We are always happy to support families in accessing uniform items if needed.

Fishing - Queens Park Lake

My name is Tim Richardson, I am an Acting Sergeant with the Moonee Ponds Police.

This message is being sent to all local secondary and primary schools in the Moonee Valley Municipality.

In recent months, Moonee Ponds Police and Moonee Valley Council have received a significant number of reports regarding fishing in the Queens Park Lake by youths in the area.

The fishing itself is not so much the issue, but the reported behaviour whereby members of the community have stated they are observing youths euthanizing fish on the side of the bank or leaving their line and rubbish behind which has had an negative impact on other wildlife in the area.

In combination with the council, I was wanting to enquire as to whether you would be happy to disseminate this information for us? Specifically, whether the message below may be able to be distributed via your school newsletter, a compass notification or directly to the parents at the school.

A message from Moonee Valley City Council Queens Park

Did you know fishing at Queens Park is not allowed? Our lake is home to some special wildlife like turtles and ducks and fishing at the lake puts them at risk. Did you also know that carp (the species of fish found in the lake) are noxious which means it’s illegal to throw them back into the water once caught. But don’t worry – you can go fishing in neighbouring locations such as Maribrynong River and Maribrynong Park. Thank you for helping to protect our wildlife and fishing in the right places.
