Environment & Sustainability

What a fantastic term it has been in our school garden! Our Garden Club students have thrown themselves into every task including harvesting, weeding, watering and caring for each corner of our thriving outdoor space. Their hard work has paid off, with lots of exciting changes to observe: delicate blossoms now brighten our pomegranate tree, and the loquat tree is already showing off its growing fruit. This week’s harvest was especially rewarding, with students proudly picking carrots, fennel and broad beans.

We are also thrilled to share some wonderful news: our school has been awarded a regional prize in the Victorian School Garden Awards! This is an outstanding achievement, and our students should feel incredibly proud of the dedication and teamwork that helped make it possible.

A very special thank you goes to Yvonne, our extraordinary volunteer. Her passion, guidance and commitment have been invaluable and this year marks an amazing milestone: her 25th year supporting our school community and garden. We are deeply grateful for everything she brings to our community.
