Prep - Farm 2 Table

🌿 Farm to Table – Learning, Growing, and Sharing Together 🌿
This month, our Prep students participated in a special Farm to Table experience, celebrating the full journey of food from seed, to garden, to plate while sharing a meaningful meal with the people they love most.
Over the past several weeks, students have been busy tending our school garden, watering seedlings, observing plant growth, and learning how fruits and vegetables make their way from the earth to our tables. Their faces lit up with pride as they harvested herbs, lettuces, and seasonal produce ingredients they would soon use to help prepare a fresh, nutritious lunch. These moments were wonderful opportunities to practise gratitude, stewardship, and community key parts of our Catholic identity.
Inside the kitchen, the excitement grew as students washed, chopped, mixed, and helped assemble dishes alongside teachers and volunteers. This hands-on experience allowed them to explore new foods, practice important life skills, and understand the value of healthy, sustainable eating.
The highlight of the day came when families arrived to join us for a shared lunch. Prep students beamed as they presented the meals they helped create, eager to show their families the results of their hard work. Laughter, conversation, and the wonderful aromas of garden fresh food filled the space, turning lunchtime into a celebration of community.
Our Farm to Table experience not only deepened students’ understanding of where food comes from, but also fostered teamwork, responsibility, and gratitude. Thank you to all our families for joining us and supporting this meaningful learning opportunity.
