Principal's Report

Report from the Acting Principal

Dear Parents, Guardians and Father Arsenio,

In the nine years I have been principal at our school, I am doing something I never thought possible. I am bidding farewell to Katherine! She will commence her family leave next week. I wish her and Michael all the best as they embark upon this momentous occasion. Her devotion to our students is second to none and I know she will be missed. Her last day will be Thursday November 6th.

Our 2026 preps have completed three of their five transition sessions. I am pleased to announce that we will start next year with 62 preps in three grades. Our current preps are keen to show some reciprocity in care and attention judging by their keenness to meet the incoming prep cohort! I appreciate the attendance of the new families as well this past Wednesday. The energy and enthusiasm were first rate in the room. Thanks Katherine. It was buzzing.

We are currently negotiating with the Cathedral for our Year 6, 2026 students to be confirmed there. Renovations are underway and make it a little less certain for our booking. The reverence and awe that our students display whilst practising and participating there make it the highlight of our sacramental program. Stay tuned for more information to follow.

My thanks to Prep parent, Andrew Lillington for the generous donation of Lego to our Lego club. I know at least 30 students who will be pleased. Thank you, Andrew.

Rachel will be in charge next week as I will be on leave, visiting my daughter in WA. I trust that all continues as per normal especially given the busy week we have just had. This included the external reviewer completing her work on site. I trust her work will yield the appropriate results that lead to our next School Improvement Plan.
