The start of this term has been busy with students working hard to complete their course requirements and applying their learning through various assessments, I want to take a moment to commend our senior students across the VCE, VCE VM, and VPC programs for the focus, determination, and commitment they have demonstrated throughout the year. Their hard work and resilience have been evident in every aspect of their learning as they approach the final stages of their secondary education.
Our Year 12 students enjoyed their Celebration Day yesterday, marking the end of their formal classes. Congratulations to the cohort for their energetic participation, positive attitude, and the respectful way in which they celebrated this important milestone. Creative efforts were on display in many forms including their costumes, fun decorations, and tributes to various staff members.
Celebration Day organiser Sally Kirstine and a team of staff provided a cooked breakfast and snacks throughout the morning as students participated in a variety of fun activities and games before finishing with a colour run. Conduct of the students was exemplary, and they should be proud of the way they concluded their secondary schooling.
The next special occasion for our Year 12s will be their Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday 19 November at the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre. This formal event will provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements and completion of their secondary education — a significant milestone in their learning journey.
We are incredibly proud of the dedication and perseverance our Year 12 students have shown throughout the year. VCE students are now preparing for their final exams, beginning with the English and EAL exam next Tuesday. VCE VM and VPC students have successfully completed their final assessments, participated in their exit interviews, and are now ready to embark on the next stage of their pathways beyond school.
Year 12 VCE exams commence next week and further details are included in the VCE News section of this newsletter. We wish all students well with their exams and remind them the campus is open during the exam period for them to study and access support as needed.
Our Year 11 students are also approaching the end of their studies for 2025. Later in the term they will have the opportunity to attend the Melbourne Prep Camp, before we commence the 2026 Headstart Program on Thursday 27 November. Headstart provides students with a valuable opportunity to step into their new subjects for two weeks and begin preparing for a successful year ahead.
I wish all students the very best as they complete this final term of the school year.
