VPC News

The VPC students (Year 11 and 12) have been working hard on various learning projects to achieve their learning outcomes. Term 4 has started with enthusiasm especially for our Year 12 VPC students who are at the final stages of their schooling. The Year 12 VPC students have recently participated in mock interviews with community partners to build confidence and receive constructive feedback to support them when attending interviews in the future.
The Year 10 Pathways students have started the CoRE (Connection, Resilience and Engagement) program, which will run every Thursday for 8 weeks, facilitated by Blue Light Victoria. Students will learn to understand the importance of community, developing healthy relationships and making community connections with community partners such as the Police service, Fire services, Ambulance services and Workways. These community partners are essential for our students as they are exposed to their roles in the community and provide them with opportunities to make connections for job opportunities and learn valuable life skills. The first two sessions have seen how the Year 10 pathways students are engaged and working together to solve problems as a team, while completing learning activities. These are some of the highlights from the CoRE program:
A Year 12 VPC student is creating an indigenous mosaic to place on the walls of the University Campus. These are some of the individual projects that students have the opportunity to explore in the VPC program, while harnessing their interests and passions.
These are also products made during our VPC/ VCE/VM Market Day at the end of Term 3.
In the coming weeks, the Year 10 Pathways students and Year 11 VPC students will be collaborating to produce an integrated project which combines their numeracy, literacy, personal development skills and work-related skills with the goal to create a stall to market and sell their products. These valuable skills will prepare the students for the real world and give them the confidence to understand and approach challenges in the future.
