Principal's Message

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Public Education Week assembly and open classrooms. It was lovely to see students showcasing their learning to family members.

Thank you also for supporting Book Week through the book fair and parade. Thank you to Mrs Wain for organising the fair and parade and adapting to unfavourable weather conditions.

Coming in the next fortnight, we have the Evening with ACoS performance and Check-in assessments begin for students in Years 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Evening with ACoS

The efforts in preparation across Armidale public schools leading up to the Evening with ACoS performance have been massive. A special thank you to Mrs Porter, Mrs Farmer and Mrs Pryce (choir and orchestra), Ms O'Hara (circus) and Mrs Howlett (dance) for their tireless efforts working with our students on their items. This week, the final rehearsals and finishing touches are being made ahead of the performance on Thursday.

Everyone attending the evening is asked to please exercise patience and consideration at the conclusion of the performances, while we facilitate the safe and orderly collection of students. This year, Ben Venue students can be collected from outside C Block. There will be an area sectioned off from which students will be released to families. Please do not enter this area. These locations are marked on the map below.

We also ask that consideration is given to local residents when parking in surrounding streets.

Student Assistance Fund

Each year, our school sets aside funds to support students requiring financial assistance to access opportunities on the same basis as their peers. A large portion of this fund is expended on support for attendance on excursions and participation in incursions. Funds are also applied to reduce or eliminate the cost of some activities and events for all families.

So far this year, we have expended $7582 in student assistance. Soon, we will run a Fathers' Day stall. All proceeds from the stall will be directed into the Student Support Fund. Your support of such fundraiser events is greatly appreciated, as it supports our school in maintaining equity for all students.

Kindergarten 2026 enrolment - the time is now

In September, Armidale principals and school enrolment panels meet to determine the allocation of non-local enrolment places for each school in 2026. Any families seeking non-local enrolment are strongly advised to contact the school as soon as possible in order to be considered in this process.

Local families and families with siblings currently enrolled at Ben Venue are also asked to contact the school as soon as possible if seeking 2026 enrolment, so that accurate decisions can be taken to ensure places are reserved for these students. If unsure whether your current address is zoned for Ben Venue, please access School Finder to conduct a search.
