School Masses

Thank you to our wonderful Year 1 and 2 students, Mrs Harris and Mrs Wilson for leading us beautifully in today's mass. Our focus in mass was in guiding those around us using kindness and compassion. 

Our final school mass for term 3 will be Friday, 11th September with Stage 3 leading the celebration. Everyone is most welcome!

Father's Day stall

The Mini Vinnies team, under the careful guidance of Mrs White and Mrs McDouall, will be hosting a Father's Day stall throughout the break times next week, from Tuesday to Thursday. This will be in the school hall and students will be able to purchase a special little item (or 3!) for the special men in their lives. Items range in price and we try to keep the prices low, with most being under $10. Students will be able to do some window shopping on Tuesday, and the stall will open for purchases Wednesday and Thursday morning tea and lunch. A huge shout out to Mrs White for her planning and purchasing to allow the school to offer this service.

RE test

All Year 6 students recently sat the annual Religion test which covers content across all Primary years of the curriculum in the Armidale Diocese. We are so proud to share that all our students have excelled in this assessment with outstanding results, well done students and thank you staff for your care and efforts in this subject area. Students were presented with their certificates of achievement on assembly today.

Retreat Day

I had the wonderful opportunity to join Religion Education Coordinators and leaders from across the Armidale Diocese at our Catholic Schools Office for a Prayer Retreat Day last week.

Gathering as a diocesan community allowed us time away from the busyness of the school day to pray, reflect, and collaborate. In our rural communities, where our schools are the heart of local parish life, coming together with colleagues from across our region is a powerful reminder of our shared mission.

A key focus of our retreat was celebrating the unique gifts and talents that each person brings to our school communities. St Paul reminds us, “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them” (1 Corinthians 12:4). Whether in our classrooms, our parishes, or our broader towns, every student, staff member, and family brings distinct God-given strengths that enrich the fabric of our school.

We look forward to continuing to nurture and celebrate the unique gifts of every child in our school community.

Angelus

We will be starting to learn this prayer as a whole school community next term. We have decided as a school community that, although the tradition is to say this prayer at midday each day, we will be adjusting this slightly to signal the transition between maths and religion lessons at 12.25pm each day. It is an opportunity to pause in our busy day, focus on our blessings and to take a moment for our faith and to decompress and, of course, pray.
