Principals' Message

Mrs Dominica Bearman

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the halfway point of our term!

This term is just flying by, with so many wonderful events and achievements already celebrated and plenty more still to come. It has been fantastic to see our students embracing the many opportunities available to them, both within and beyond the classroom.

As we reach the halfway mark, I would like to thank our staff, students and families for their continued support and enthusiasm. There is certainly plenty happening at St Joseph’s, and we look forward to making the most of the second half of the term!

My School Survey

An annual satisfaction survey of parents, students and staff will be conducted on behalf of all Catholic schools in the Diocese this term. The surveys are designed to gather feedback from parents, staff and students about our school and will be used to inform school improvement. Responses are confidential, and individuals can not be identified. The surveys will be launched via email on Monday, 24 August 2026 using the email addresses supplied to the school. If you do not receive an email with a link to the survey, you can access and complete the survey via the following link. https://www.research.net/r/StJosephsBarrabaPARENT2026  The survey will close on Wednesday, 2 September 2026.

Book Parade 2026

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Book Parade last week such a fabulous morning!

It was wonderful to see the incredible effort that our students, families and staff put into their costumes and the excitement and enthusiasm everyone brought to the event. Our students looked fantastic, and it was lovely to see so many creative and imaginative characters come to life!

A special thank you to our staff and school leaders for all the preparation, organisation and hard work that went on behind the scenes to make the morning run so smoothly.

We are so grateful for the wonderful support of our school community. What a fantastic way to celebrate the joy of books and reading!

Thank You to Our Work Experience Students

A big thank you to our high school work experience students, Paige and Miley, who spent the past week with us at St Joseph's! We truly appreciated your enthusiasm, support, and dedication in our classrooms, and we wish you both all the best in your future studies.

Our annual Father's Day Breakfast is fast approaching. Please see the flyer on the General News page of the newsletter for dates, details and a catering link. We look forward to celebrating with all of our wonderful dads!

Social Media - Facebook

You may soon notice that we will begin to stop sharing photos of our students’ faces on our school Facebook page. This is a deliberate step we are taking to further protect our students in an increasingly digital world, particularly with the growing risks associated with AI-generated image misuse.

We will still continue to celebrate and share the wonderful things happening at St Joseph’s. Photos of our students will instead be shared with families through the Compass app, which provides a more secure platform for sharing within our school community.

For more information about online safety, along with excellent resources and practical tips for parents and carers, we encourage you to explore the eSafety Commissioner’s website.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to take proactive steps to protect the safety and wellbeing of our students.
