Celebrating Success at the CEWA QCE Awards

Gallery Image

Trinity College had plenty to celebrate at the recent CEWA Quality Catholic Education (QCE) Awards, held at Optus Stadium, where our College received three awards!

Our Beyond Grades: Building a Culture of Personal Excellence initiative was named the Secondary Education Category Winner, while PINC: Supporting Families, Strengthening Community received both the People's Choice Award and a Merit Award in the Community Category.

These awards are wonderful recognition of the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in these initiatives, particularly Julian Fritz and Natalee Calegari. Their efforts, together with the contributions and support of those working alongside them, have been instrumental in the success of both initiatives.

A special thank you to everyone who voted and encouraged family and friends to support our nominations.

Auxiliary News

As we commence the final term for the year, we thank the many volunteers who supported the Auxiliary at school events at the end of last term, and already this term.

Recent Events

Thank you to the school community who attended and supported the annual Auxiliary Morning Tea – it was a full house and our speaker, Ms Nadia Mitsopoulos, was generous in sharing her story and providing evidence to support our theme of a community supporting others. Thanks to those families who contributed their time and talents with morning tea goodies, raffle prizes, and setting up and packing down for the event.

The morning tea is the main fundraiser event for the year, with the funds raised used to support the boys and TC families either directly or indirectly, with donations to school events (e.g. Year 12 Ball; New Parents' Morning Tea; other various start-of-year, welcome, and orientation morning teas), supporting events through provision of consumables and kitchen items; and sponsorship of Art Awards and school projects. This year’s funding efforts have contributed to the provision of a water cooler at Waterford and the replacement of the tables used in Gibney Hall and at other locations around the College.

Yesterday, a number of Year 11 parents supported the TOBA Graduation Breakfast, with an early morning start in windy conditions, to ensure parents and families from the Class of 2026 commenced this final celebration day with a hot drink and yummy treats.

Annual General Meeting / Join the Auxiliary

The Auxiliary AGM is scheduled for 8.30am on Monday 2 November, and we warmly invite all parents to attend. We will be farewelling several committee members as they finish their time with the college, so are seeking members for the committee, particularly the positions of vice president, secretary, treasurer and Junior School representative.

If you are interested in becoming an Auxiliary member or committee position, please see the role descriptions (click the button below, and scroll to the 'College Auxiliary section), and click the 'Submit the EOI' button below to register your interest.

We wish all our TC families an enjoyable last term of 2026, and wish our Year 12 families all the very best!

Mrs Melanie Day

President, TC Auxiliary

Join the TC Parent Council - Casual Vacancy

Submit an Expression of Interest

The Trinity College Parent Council (TCPC) calls for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from current parents willing to be involved on the Council, as a Casual Vacancy has become available.

The TCPC enables parents of current students to engage in and support school activities with the view of enhancing the community experience at the College. They achieve this by providing support and advice to the College Leadership Team in relation to areas of parental support. Additionally, the TCPC, in collaboration with the school, helps manage social events for the College community, including the annual Parent Ball.

The TCPC is looking to fill the Casual Vacancy, with the position being for a three-year term, as standard under the TCPC Terms of Reference. While nominations are welcomed from all current parents, the TCPC particularly encourages nominations from:

  • parents with sons in Years 8, 9 or 10; and/or,

  • persons with skills in hospitality, marketing, and/or event support; and/or,

  • persons with administrative and/or secretarial experience as part of a council, club (etc); and/or,

  • persons with a keen interest in supporting the organisation of the Parent Ball.

Any parent who is interested is asked to submit a brief EOI (one page maximum) addressed to the TCPC Chairperson (Mrs Bernie Dimanlig-Rankin), telling the TCPC a little bit about yourself, why you are interested in being involved and any skills, talents or ideas you could bring to the TCPC.

Please email your expression of interest to tcparentcouncil@gmail.com by 3.00pm on Friday, 6 November. The TCPC hopes to welcome the member at the next Council meeting, on Tuesday, 17 November.

Waterbank Interim Training Facility Project - Construction Update

Fortnightly update

Families will be aware of ongoing construction works at the Waterbank Training Facility (the new playing fields opposite the main College gate).

What is happening over the next fortnight?

  • Completion of footing and foundation works

  • Delivery of transportable building modules

  • Installation of sea containers and waste tanks

  • Crane operations associated with module installation

  • Ongoing civil works within the construction compound

  • Commencement of building complexing activities following installation

The major jackhammering associated with the main building pad has been completed, with only limited footing works remaining for the container installations.

Activities that may be noticeable to TC

The most significant activity during this period will be the delivery and installation of the transportable buildings and crane operations. Current advice indicates the following delivery schedule:

  • Monday 19 October

    • Approx 7.00am: Crane mobilisation

    • Approx 8.00am: Sea container and waste tank deliveries

    • Throughout the day: module building deliveries

  • Tuesday 20 October

    • Throughout the day: module building deliveries

  • Friday 23 October

    • Throughout the day: module building installations

These works will increase the number of heavy vehicles, contractor vehicles and lifting activities within the construction area. Traffic management personnel will be in place to safely manage truck movements and pedestrian interactions where required. Short stop-and-hold traffic controls may occur to facilitate vehicle access to site.

At this stage, the contractor has advised that no significant disruption to normal school drop-off and pick-up activities is anticipated; however, the Office of Major Infrastructure Delivery (OMID) will continue monitoring the situation closely.

OMID is also keenly aware of multiple major College events happening in week 4.2 (particularly on Thursday 22 October for Graduation Day), and will work closely with their contractors to identify and manage any potential impacts.

Saliani Avenue Road Works

Effective Now Until Mid-December

Roadworks are currently taking place on Sailani Avenue near the Matagarup Bridge, which will serve to create a new turnaround point for the Red CAT Bus Services. These road works will see significant changes to the way the College is accessed throughout Term 4 and into the summer holidays.

Schedule of works

  • The works are scheduled to take place from now until Friday, 18 December 2026.

  • During the construction period, a full road closure will be in place from 7.00am to 5.00pm.

  • The road will be open overnight (during the week), and over the weekends (unless weekend construction is required to maintain the schedule of works).

What this means

  • Access through the work zone will not be permitted for general traffic during the above working hours; this includes drop off/pick up students and staff.

  • The College will not be accessible via Nile Street, from the north. Vehicles will only be able to approach the College via Nelson Crescent, or Braithwaite Street.

  • School bus services will be permitted to travel through the worksite during construction, and access to the existing school bus stands on Sailani Avenue will be maintained.

Accessing the lower part of Sailani Avenue

  • Access will be from the south only (Nelson Crescent, or Braithwaite Street), as there will be no access from the north (Nile Street).

  • If approaching from Braithwaite Street, Traffic Management personnel have been instructed to permit families and staff  to turn right at the T-junction in order to access the limited Sailani Avenue area.

  • Vehicles will be able to access the road all the way up to our basketball courts, but will then need to turn around and head back the way they came; vehicles will not be able to proceed northwards onto Nile Street.

Regarding Gloucester Park (GP)

  • The location of the road works means access for horse floats and larger vehicles associated with Gloucester Park will now be via Gloucester Park (GP) Gate 7 - just by the T-junction outside Junior School.

  • On Tuesdays in particular, Gloucester Park trainers will start arriving with floats from 2.00pm, resulting in significant traffic and congestion at the T- junction intersection, and thus increasing the risk of damage to any vehicles parked near the intersection.

Recommendations

  • Where possible/practical, students are encouraged to use public transport routes to/from school in an effort to ease congestion.

  • It has been strongly recommended to families to make alternative drop-off/pick-up arrangements throughout Term 4 (particularly on Tuesdays), rather than use the limited Sailani Avenue access area.

Traffic Management personnel will be on site during working hours to assist with traffic movements, maintain safety and provide guidance to road users. Please follow the detours in accordance with the approved Traffic Guidance Scheme, and show kindness to staff managing the road works.

MRC Garden Donations Needed

We are currently seeking donations to help enhance the MRC outdoor learning area. If you have any pond plants (including Water Lilies, Water Lettuce, Hornwort or Anacharis), grey decorative paving stones, bags of wood chip mulch, or solar-powered garden lights to spare, we would greatly appreciate your support.

Donations can be dropped off at Administration or the MRC. Thank you for helping us create a beautiful, engaging and enriching outdoor space for our students.

Forward Planning for 2027

Families are reminded that, in accordance with the College's enrolment conditions, one full term's written notice is required if a student will not be returning to the College.

If your child will not be returning in 2027, please provide written confirmation to the Registrar no later than Friday, 25 September 2026. Notification should be sent via email to registrar@trinity.wa.edu.au.

Mrs Brooke Hornbuckle

Registrar

Applications for 2029

Early next year, we will commence the interview process for students seeking entry into Year 4 and Year 7 in 2029.

As places in these cohorts are in high demand and fill quickly, we encourage all current families with younger siblings to submit an application as soon as possible if they have not already done so.

Lodging an application early helps ensure your child can be considered as part of the enrolment process and avoids disappointment.
