Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Welcome to the start of another exciting year at MacKillop Catholic College! As we embark on 2025, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our students, staff, and families—especially those who are new to our community.
This year marks another significant milestone in our journey. From our humble beginnings with just 59 students in 1994, we are now a thriving community of over 900 students. This incredible growth is a testament to the strength, unity, and vibrant spirit of MacKillop Catholic College.
Celebrating Year 12 Success
Last year, we reached a historic moment with our first-ever Year 12 cohort. Not only did our students achieve excellent results, but in key academic metrics, they also performed very well against other Year 11/12 options. This is a remarkable achievement and highlights the benefits of a Year 7-12 education, where students experience consistency in support, strong teacher relationships, and a seamless transition through their senior years.
Last Friday, we celebrated the success of our Year 12s, and we also recognised the dedication and achievements of students across all year levels. Whether through outstanding exam results, personal growth, or resilience in the face of challenges, each student plays a role in fostering our culture of excellence.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As we move forward, we are committed to providing an environment where students thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. Guided by the values of Excellence, Compassion, and Service, we encourage every student to embrace challenges, support one another, and strive to be their best.
Saint Mary MacKillop once said, "With God, all things are possible." This year, let’s keep that spirit alive in everything we do. I look forward to working together to make 2025 a year of success, growth, and shared achievements. You are always welcome to contact me directly - bgill@mackillop.tas.edu.au
