Welcome Back
A big welcome back to all of our Scotsburn families for Term 3. It has been great to hear about some of the adventures and fun that was had over the break, and we look forward to another exciting term ahead! There is certainly lots happening both in and out of the classroom and we can’t wait to get into it.
Whole School Assembly - this Friday July 17
This Friday we will kick off the term with a whole school assembly at Buninyong in the gym. As is our normal routine, we will meet in the courtyard at the Buninying campus and then head down to the gym. We will then head to the library to borrow some new books, and then bus back to Scotsburn after recess. Regular pick up arrangements at Scotsburn at the end of the day.
No Breakfast Club or Fruit Delivery This Week
Our Wednesday Breakfast Club and fruit deliveries will commence back next week. For the remainder of this week, please remember to pack some fruit each day in your child’s lunch box.
SC2 Grade 5/6 Earth Ed Excursion - Next Tuesday July 21
Next Tuesday our Grade 5/6 students will join 5/6 BW and 5/6 MM on an excursion to Earth Ed, which is located next to Mount Clear College. The day will involve some exciting STEM learning, including a “Disaster Island” program. Our Scotsburn students will need to start and finish the day at the Buninyong campus, joining Mr White and Mr Muldoon’s classes for the day. Students will need to bring their backpack with a normal lunchbox and water packed.
Lunchtime Club
With a chilly day to start Term 3, lunchtime club was a hive of activity on Monday during breaktimes. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying each other’s company playing cooperative games in the warmth.
Concert Update
Our concert planning is well and truly under way! Whilst the performances are not until Week 7, time will fly by and we will be there before we know it. In the next few weeks, we will put out the call for some parent helpers. You don’t need to have any experience with performances or dancing, much of the help will be costumes and props. The performances will be kept closely guarded, so that parents can enjoy the performance as a surprise on the day.
Lots more information will be sent out to parents in the coming weeks, including a comprehensive parent information booklet.
It is starting to get very exciting!
Lawson - Baseball Extraordinaire!
Across both campuses at Buninyong Primary School, we love to have the opportunity to celebrate all the amazing achievements of our students both at school and in the community. Over the past weekend, Lawson represented the Geelong Baseball Association at the U13s State Winter Championships in Bendigo. Whilst his team didn’t win the tournament, Lawson was named MVP for his U13s team. If you have ever played throw and catch or a striking game with Lawson in the yard, you will certainly know why he was able to achieve such an honour.
Congratulations Lawson!
Swimming and Water Safety Program
Our 2026 swimming and water safety program commences later this term. Lessons take place at the Federation University pool by qualified instructors and run for 45 minutes over a 5 day period.
More detailed information will be sent home via Compass in the coming week for parent/carer consent, along with payment details. The cost of this year’s program is $66 per child.
In the meantime, please see the dates for Scotsburn below.

Scotsburn Intercampus Travel At times, Scotsburn students will be transported between campuses in order to attend classes, assemblies, special days and events. On most occasions, transport required through the day will be by bus and occasionally private car for smaller groups of students. Parents may be asked to drop off or collect from the Buninyong campus if sessions are at the beginning or ending of a day. We will always let you know of any upcoming travel arrangements via our newsletter, Compass, or via phone for smaller, more specific travel arrangements. If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding intercampus travel, please contact your child’s teacher. |
