Music Notes

As we head into Term 3, here are some important dates to note:

Music Gala rehearsal day Monday 20 July

• Vox (15A) - 9:30am - 10:30am

   

• Senior Strings (Hall Stage) 10:30am - 11:30am

   

• Jorgenson Orchestra (Hall Stage) 11:30am - 12:30pm

   

• Senior Concert Band (Hall Stage) 12:40pm - 1:40pm

   

Some Year 12s may be involved in the English Oral assessment, if you are affected by this, please check in with your Ensemble Director.

Music Camp Friday 31 July – Saturday 1 August

Music Camp will be held at the scenic Oasis Camp site in Mt Evelyn. Just a reminder to keep an eye on the Music Camp portal page, it has all of the important information, especially the packing list:

More information will come out at the start of Term 3, but you can add this date to your calendar.

Music Gala Tuesday 8 September

Music Gala will be held at the Melbourne Recital Centre. The Music Department is looking forward to inviting you to attend, celebrating the 130th anniversary of 

St Catherine’s.

Information regarding ticketing will come out at the start of Term 3.

Instrumental Lesson and the Ensemble Program

Students learning instruments externally are always welcome to take part in the St Catherine’s Ensemble program. Additionally, students are welcome to join the Instrumental Music program to begin private instrumental lessons at school at any time. 

Students and families with questions regarding participation in ensembles, choirs or private instrumental music lessons, should contact Ms Samantha Hammersley or Mr Frank Blakiston.
