🥺RIP GWEN THE GOOSE🥺

💙🥚A RIBBON ON A PRINCESS AND AWARD WINNING EGGS🥚💙

😞On Monday, October 2 Gwen Goose was attacked and killed by a fox whilst protecting her eggs. She is buried next to her favourite pond lovingly made by some of our trusty garden crew.

Gwen came to us about 15 years ago with her loving partner Gus the Gander. He died of natural causes about 6 years ago. She was named after our librarian of many years Gwen. Both Gwen’s were extremely popular members of our school community.

Gwen Goose was a very grumpy and protective goose when she arrived. Jasper and Zoe would spend playtime after playtime nurturing and caring for her. With much love, they turned her from a grumpy, honking goose into a loving, honking goose. She is a great example of what a little love can do 🥹.

🙏Zoe and Jasper we are eternally grateful. Gwen we will miss you dearly🙏.

On a lighter note, our ‘Princess of Poultry’, Mrs Mertens, and 2CA have been caring for five chickens given to us by The Royal Melbourne Show. The Show ran a competition in conjunction with many schools on various aspects of chicken care. I’m 💙PROUD💙 to announce St Louis won first prize for the best 🥚eggs🥚. An 🥚 that is consistent in colour signifies a much loved and cared for chicken. 2CA, Mrs Mertens and Show Chooks this is a definite proud moment💚.

🧳 Guinea pig adoption program will run over the summer holidays for any families interested. This is an opportunity for families to care for two guinea pigs for a period of time over the holidays.
