AtoSS

Dear families,

Each year, students in Years 4 to 6 complete the Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS), providing valuable feedback about their experiences at school. The survey gathers a large amount of data across areas including learning, wellbeing, safety, relationships, belonging and student voice.

The results shared here are just a snapshot of the much broader data we receive through AtoSS. We have deliberately selected a small number of measures to share with our families. Some highlight areas of strength, while others identify areas where we know there is important work to continue.

We were pleased to see positive results in areas including Managing Bullying and Respect for Diversity, as well as a very strong result for High Expectations.

We have also deliberately included Student Voice and Agency. While this result is lower than some of the other measures, it is an area we have already identified as a significant priority. A mountain of work is underway across the school to strengthen student voice, agency and leadership and to create more meaningful opportunities for students to contribute to decisions and improvements within our school.

What happens next?

AtoSS is not simply about collecting data. What matters is what we do with what our students have told us.

Our next steps are to hold a Student Forum to explore the results more deeply and hear directly from students about what is working and what they believe could improve. We will then take this feedback and the broader AtoSS data to our staff teams, identify clear and achievable goals, and work together towards those goals.

We will continue to monitor our progress and, importantly, keep students involved throughout the process.

Thank you to our Years 4 to 6 students for sharing their experiences so openly. Their voices help us understand what we are doing well, where we can improve and where to focus our work as we continue to be a community of learners reaching for the heights.
