Kingfisher Fair and Open Day

What a joyful GSG day!  On Sunday we hosted the Kingfisher Fair and Open Day in a new format and it was, to say the least, a roaring success.  Starting with streams of cars which seemed to form a never-ending convoy through the gates, the day saw us celebrate The Arts with the opening of the Whole School Arts Exhibition 'Our Place', featuring artworks from every student in the school.  Our Hall was transformed into a wonderland of creativity and colour and we launched our wine 'Boodalang' (Pelican), featuring a label designed by Bryn Rivers (Year Ten).  A big thank you to our Art Department, led by Ms Rachel Mordy and art teachers Miss Madi van der List and Ms Angela Diletti.  We have also very much enjoyed having Laura Newbury as our Artist-in-Residence.

The day also saw us celebrating learning, with displays from the teaching teams in Science, Humanities, English, Health and Physical Education, Languages and Mathematics. A sincere thank you to our teachers for the time, creativity and commitment they invested in preparing these engaging displays and sharing their passion for learning with our visitors. The Technologies Showcase was a highlight, featuring student work from Sustainable Production, Design Technologies - Wood, Digital Technologies and Hospitality. Thank goodness for the baristas from our Hospitality Team, serving us fabulous coffee throughout the day.

Leadership journeys begin

At Monday's assembly we inducted our new student leaders for Year Twelve for 2027.  As our current student leaders prepare to depart, this is an important time for them to support our new leaders as they begin their journey, showing them the ropes and sharing their experience.  It is time to say a very heartfelt thank you to our current Year Twelve leaders for their service to the school community. 

We offer a warm welcome to our new leadership group for 2027, they begin their journey with our heartfelt wishes for an enriching experience in the coming year.
