Connor's Run

Let's Run for Connor
Connor’s run is a fun-run event organised by the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation. It is to raise money and awareness about paediatric brain cancer. Connors Run is a popular event in Australia, specifically in Melbourne with thousands of participants joining to run, walk or just participate in other activities. This event encourages participants “to have more fun than run” and celebrates courage while supporting those affected by brain cancer. There are three different routes which all start at different times at different places around the City and take place on the 14th of September.
Distances
The longest run is 18.8km from Hampton Beach to Alexandra Gardens, which is actually the same track Connor once ran in preparation for a rowing season and coincidentally, the length of his life! There is a 9.6km route from Catani Gardens, St Kilda to Alexandra Gardens, representing Connor's birthday, 9 June. This year, there is another route which is 3 kilometres called ‘the little bird loop’ which starts at Peppercorn Lawn and ends at Alexander Gardens, Melbourne!
Tickets
It may cost money, but it’s definitely worth it because all the money used to fundraise goes to the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation, which is used to find a cure for children facing brain cancer. The Adult Connor’s Run is on a slight discount costing $65 per person (the original price was $75), and the Youth Connor’s Run (18 and younger) is also on a discount of $45 (the original price was $55).
If you want to take advantage of these discounted prices, please sign up by the 9th of June and don’t forget to join the Ormond Primary School Team!
