Good afternoon all,

Mother’s/ Special Persons breakfast 8am Thursday May 7th

Very much looking forward to welcoming our community to come together for Mother’s/ Special Person's breakfast, Thursday morning May 7th.

Thanks to Friends of Chilwell (Parents and Friends Association) we have planned a lovely morning with Egg and Bacon rolls or Danish that can be pre purchased for this event.  There will be a coffee van onsite, and we ask that this is limited to parent coffee/ tea etc. to support large quantities and queues on the morning of.

See you out the front of the school at 8am.

I would formally like to introduce School Council members for 2026.

Along with myself, Sarah Jeffreys, Louisa Blamires, and welcoming Britt Hercus (Prep Teacher) this year as Department of Education representatives.

In addition, to this we have Nazmus Sakib (Sakib), Evan Williams, Alicia Bennett, Belinda Perisic, Chris Botha, and Emma Purdue as Parent and Community members.

We thank Bridie King for her commitment over the previous years, who has stepped down from council in 2026.

I look forward to continuing to work with this great team in 2026 and beyond.

For more information about our Council, please head to the Chilwell PS website for their bios.

Parent Teacher Interviews

We have Parent Teachers Interviews on Wednesday May 13th from 2:10pm. Timeslots of 10 minutes will be offered, and this is a great opportunity to discuss with teachers and specialist teaching staff how your child is tracking this year.  Please ensure you allow time in between appointments if you have multiple children to ensure you can move between classrooms.  Please note that this is strictly only 10 minutes due to time restraints and numbers of student appointments needing to be made for each class.

Specialist Teachers will be located in the Art Room, and please ask that parents only make appointments for Specialist Teachers that you would like to discuss something specific about your child’s learning.  They teach upwards of 400 students and only have a small number of allocated time slots.

Don’t forget we have a Curriculum Day this Friday May 8th and students are not required to be at school on this day.

Continued good luck to Sarah Jeffreys who is performing in Sister Act the Musical currently on stage at GPAC.  I saw the show last Sunday and was so impressed and proud ofher performance!

Kind regards,

Meg
