Wombat Corner Camp

On October 13 and 14, our Year 3 and 4 students enjoyed two wonderful days at Wombat Corner Camp in Emerald.
It was a great chance to spend time outdoors, try new activities, and build friendships. Students loved the flying fox, bike riding, bush hut building, canoeing, mini golf, low ropes, and trampolines. A big thank you to Ms Kurzel, Ms Abrahams, Mrs Mihalicek, Ms Ana, and Ms Chrishni for their care, support, and enthusiasm in making the camp such a positive experience for everyone.
Below are some reflections from our students about their camp experience - have a read and enjoy their stories!
At camp, everyone got to be in a group with their friends. We got to do fun activities like canyoning, bush hut building, bike riding, low ropes and the flying fox. At night, we went on a walk. We got our torches to see in the dark, then we went to the campfire and Ms Mihalicek told us a story! We then went to sleep. My friends and I woke up early, so we waited until everyone else in our cabin woke up, then we quietly talked about how great camp is! I think that it is impossible to not have fun at camp!

On Monday, we went to Wombat Corner Camp! We left school at 8:50am. When we arrived, we had morning tea and then our teachers told us about our cabins and activity groups. The activities were; the flying fox, bush hut building, canoeing, low ropes/mini golf and bike riding. We could use the trampoline in our free time which was loved by everyone!
After we completed activity 1, we had lunch. We had yummy wraps! Then, we did activity 2. After that, we had afternoon tea which was donuts and watermelon. After activity 3, we had free time and dinner. We had a barbecue burger and ice cream with sprinkles for dessert! We then went on a night walk around Emerald Lake and sat near the camp fire and toasted marshmallows. Then it was time for bed!
The next day, we woke up, packed our bags then had breakfast which was toast, cereal and hash browns. Then, we had activity 4 followed by morning tea which was biscuits and oranges. Then, we had activity 5, then went on the bus and drove back to school.

Last week, the Year 3 and 4 students stayed one night at the lovely Wombat Corner Camp. Everybody had a very, very fun time there! It was located at the beautiful Emerald lake. It was a pretty place to go camping or to go for a walk.
When we arrived, they showed us our cabins and we unpacked our sleeping bags. Then we got ready for our activities. The activities were Flying fox, canoeing, Bush hut building, low ropes, mini golf and lastly Bike Ed.
After that we had an AMAZING DINNER! After we were done having dinner, we gathered around the couch area and then, my class went for a night walk and then the other class 3/4K was going on the night walk, then we switched.
After that we settled in bed, changed into our bed stuff and then we went to sleep.
Camp was amazing and I loved it! I learned a lot of things.

Last week on Monday my 3/4s class and I went to Wombat Corner for camp. Wombat Corner is located close to the Emerald Lake.
When we got off the bus we sat down, then we had snack. After snack we went to our cabins. I had Sammi, Shanaya, Catherine, Maya, Gianna, and Lianne in my cabin. After we set up our beds we went back where we had snack to split into groups. My group first went to the flying fox and it was so fun. I went on it 4 times and Sammi helped me take a photo of me on the flying fox.
Then after the flying fox my group went canoeing. When there I almost fell off the canoe 5 times. After that we went to golf but I couldn’t do it because the club was too heavy. Then we had dinner and ate marshmallows that I kept on dropping. Then we went to sleep but I couldn't sleep.
Next we went bush hut building and in my hut there was a chair. Then we went to bike riding but I couldn’t bike so I kept on falling off. Then I had lunch, then went on the bus and went back to school.
I liked going to camp and I’m excited to go to Wombat Corner again for camp.
