Message from the Principal

St Peter’s School - an empowered faith community to enrich the world.

Welcome to Week 3 Term 4

What a week of weather we have had! Spring is really showing us the variables of cold, wind, rain and then a little bit of sunshine thrown in. I am looking forward to a bit more warmth although gardens are looking amazing!

The weather has not stopped the fun and learning happening at St Peter's. It  has been another 2 weeks of different events and achievements.

Special Person's Afternoon Tea

Well done to our Parents and Friends (P&F) for the wonderful Special Persons' afternoon tea held at the end of Week 1. It was a great way to start the term, with opportunities for families to connect over food and a cup of tea.

3 /4 Camp

Students in Years 3 /4 headed off for an overnight school camp at Wombat Corner in Emerald at the beginning of Week 2. Thank you to the staff who enabled this event to happen - Thalia, Karen, Ana, Chrishni, and Belinda. A lot of planning and preparation happen to ensure everything runs smoothly, and much fun is had. Our staff go above and beyond to support students. I give them a BIG thank you!! Read our recounts written by some students on the camp page. I am sure you will agree that much fun was had!

Foundation 2026 Families

Although there is much to experience and enjoy in the current school year, we have begun the transition process for our Foundation 2026 students. We welcomed parents and carers to an information night last week and welcome the students to their first session on Friday. We spoke about the myriad of emotions that adults and children will be feeling over the coming weeks and months and how, not only are the school and staff here to support but, also the community is here to support and help each other too. We look forward to building these relationships with our new families.

Confirmation

What a wonderful celebration we had on Saturday 18 October as some of our Year 6 students fully committed to the Catholic faith through the Sacrament of Confirmation. Thank you to Iris, Sarah and Rebecca as well as Fr Andrew for the work in preparing the students so well for an important faith milestone. Of course, parents are the primary educators of their children, and we thank  families for their commitment and support.

Please read more about this on Our Faith Journey page.

Italian Day

We are looking forward to celebrating Italian Day next Wednesday, 29 October. Families are welcome to join us at the beginning of the day as we will begin with a parade around the lower court to show off everyones creativity in representing Italian culture and share some of the songs being learnt in Italian.

An italian lunch of pizza and gelato will be provided.
