Principal's Message

Dear Families,

As we approach the end of yet another busy year, it is time to stop and reflect. Everyone at Our Lady's has had another extraordinary year! This year, with the implementation of Magnify Sandhurst however, the year has provided us with many challenges that have inspired the best from all of us here at Our Lady's. The learning programs the teachers and support staff have worked hard to embed in everyday practice has made a difference to our school. We are seeing student learning at a very different level. I am so proud of each and every student for embracing these changes and seeing themselves as high achieving learners.

I am blessed to be surrounded by such a beautiful school, parent and staffing community. I wish to thank everyone for their ongoing support, dedication and commitment to the children at Our Lady's.

Farewells

This fortnight, we farewell three staff members from our fold and wish them the very best in all future endeavours.

Firstly, Mrs. Cathie Walsh has made the decision to resign from her position at Our Lady's and retire from teaching. Her impressive career has spread across many years. Cathie originally commenced teaching at St. Joseph's Benalla in 1983. Cathie then worked across a Tongala and Kerang before heading here to Wangaratta. Cathie impressively served Catholic Schools Wangaratta for an outstanding 26 years, dedicating her life to educating across St. Patrick's Primary School and here at Our Lady's Primary School. During this time, Cathie has impacted on student lives and growth immensely. As Cathie is currently away on sick leave, we have been unable to celebrate her in person. The students, staff and whole community wish Cathie the very best in the next chapter of her life. We do suspect there will be some travel in there somewhere - we can't wait to hear what trip you have planned next.

Last week, Mr. Josh Naish announced that he has accepted a very exciting opportunity at Borinya for 2026. This is a hugely exciting step for our very own Mr. Naish. Josh has served our community since 2010. Within that time, Josh has worked across most classrooms in our school and served time on the Leadership Team also. As the saying goes, a change is as good as a holiday. We wish Mr. Naish the best possible learning and growth as he takes on this new challenge. We look forward to hearing from you during this next chapter of your career and thank you for your service to our school.

Miss Quartermain has been with us during the last 12 months, servicing our STEM teacher position. Miss Q, as she is affectionately known to our students, has made a lasting impact during a short time here at Our Lady's. We thank Miss Q for her support throughout 2025 and wish her all the best with her future endeavours.
