Christmas Messages 3-6

Grade 3 Sinclair

Celebrating a Year of Growth and Learning!

As we reach the end of another exciting school year, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on all the achievements, challenges, and moments of joy we’ve shared together as a class. Our classroom has been buzzing with curiosity, creativity, and collaboration, and I couldn’t be prouder of the progress every student has made.

This year, we’ve seen incredible growth, not just in reading, writing, and numeracy, but in resilience, kindness, and teamwork. One of the most impressive achievements has been the way students have developed their ability to work together as a team. They have shown respect, cooperation, and empathy, creating a classroom environment that is calm, positive, and focused on learning. This sense of community has made our classroom a truly special place.

From exploring new topics in Maths to creating amazing narratives in English, every experience has helped shape confident learners ready for the next step in their journey.

A heartfelt thank you to all families for your ongoing support and encouragement. Your partnership makes a world of difference in helping students thrive.

As we head into the holidays, we encourage everyone to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with loved ones. We can’t wait to welcome you back in the new year for more adventures in learning. Until then, have a safe and happy holiday season!

Grade 4 Griffin

This year, Grade Four has grown, learnt, and shared many memorable moments together.

Our Harrietville adventure camp was and exciting way to start our year off with new experiences and opportunities to challenge ourselves.  Many of us tried activities we had never done before.  Even when some things felt scary at first, we encouraged one another, gave things a go, and discovered we were brave than we thought.  Camp was also a special time building friendships.  We spent time with classmates making new connections through teamwork and share adventures.  Whether it was helping each other through an activity, chatting in our cabins, or laughing at mealtimes, we grew closer as a group.

Each of us has tried our very best with learning, and we have all grown in confidence and ability. We all embraced OCHRE and have enjoyed all our class novels, but our favourite was “His Name was Walter”, a story that kept us guessing and thoroughly engaged form start to finish.  We felt that we personally knew Walter and all the characters.

This year has seen us learn together, laugh together and create wonderful memories throughout a fantastic school year. So, from all of us in Grade Four we wish you all a safe and holy Christmas packed with family, friends and fun.

As we finish off the school year, I would just like to say a big congratulations to all the students in Grade 5. Throughout the year you have shown significant growth in not only your learning, but also as people. You will all make fantastic school leaders next year.

I would also like to say a big thank you to all the parents of the students that I have taught this year. Your support and trust have made this year another successful year and made my job as your child’s teacher much easier with so much change that has occurred this year.

Finally, as I enter the final days of teaching at this wonderful school, I would like to say a big thank you to everyone in our school community for the support, kind words and gifts that I have received since my decision to leave Our Lady’s. While I will greatly miss being part of the exciting future of the school, after 16 years of being on staff, it is time for me to challenge myself in a different role at a different school, which I very much am looking forward to.

I hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable Christmas and holiday period.

Thanks again,

Josh

Well, what a journey it has been! Can you believe our Grade 6’s are nearly at the end of our final year of primary school. We have seen such growth in our Year 6 students, and we are very proud of the accomplishments they’ve made as well as the fact that they have grown into kind, funny and resilient young people.

We thank Mrs Walsh, for being an important influence, not just this year but also throughout other parts of our schooling journey. We thank her for her commitment to the students, and we wish her the very best in her retirement.

Some highlights of our year include: Our Melbourne Camp,  Fundraisers and leadership opportunities such as -Crazy hair Day,  Pancake Tuesday, PJ and Cookie Day, Remembrance Day and Sports day.

We’ve been on great excursions such as our Aboriginal Incursion, Boys from the Bush.  Wizard of Oz, In common- a circus performance and Ratburger.

Phew! When did we find time to work? Well, we did. We worked hard and were resilient with learning the ropes for our new Magnify program. Students adjusted well to the new style of learning and worked hard in all subject areas.

We read a variety of novels that spanned different topics such as Holocaust, Chinese culture, Aboriginal Australia and Autism. We wrote narratives, persuasive essays, reports and worked on our spelling, vocabulary and grammar.

In Maths we covered a variety of topics throughout the year. This semester our focus has been fractions, decimals, percentages and data.

Our Year Sixes have worked hard. We are delighted to celebrate their achievements together at the Year Six Graduation. This will be on Monday 15th December at 6pm at Our Lady’s Church.

We wish Year 6 students the very best on their secondary adventure. Cherish your memories, work hard, and make us proud. Always remember to believe in yourself. You will be remembered fondly.

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think.” —A.A. Milne

Wishing you all a safe and happy Christmas and all the best in 2026!
