Prep Breakfast

Yesterday the Prep children enjoyed breakfast at school as part of the Camp Program. The children came to school dressed in their pyjamas and ate breakfast together. They also celebrated Christmas with Christmas craft activities and a special Christmas incursion. A big thank you to Miss Wirth and Miss Cameron for organising this special day for the children, and to all the staff who helped set up and serve breakfast.

Year 6 Treetops

On Monday, the Year 6's had their final outing together at Treetops Adventure in Belgrave.

They moved through tree branches on an array of ziplines, tight ropes and tunnels. It certainly was a memorable way to end their primary school journey and enjoy the company of each other one last time.

Year 2 Donut Display

As part of the Year 2 Writing unit on persuasive texts, the students have participated in a Flavour of the Month Competition. They needed to design a donut and write a persuasive piece to accompany it, explaining why their donut is the best donut for the shop.

On Wednesday afternoon, other year levels and families visited the Donut Shop and listened to the children persuade them that their donut should be voted as the best donut for the shop.

Year 3 Christmas Traditions around the World

As part of our Inquiry learning, the Year Three children have been researching Christmas traditions around the world. They have researched and presented information about their own family backgrounds and the very special events that occur in different countries around the world at Christmas time. From special foods like Panettone which is a traditional Italian sweet bread, originating from Milan, shaped like a dome and typically includes candied fruits and raisins, so delicious. Christmas traditions vary widely across the world, with some examples including eating KFC in Japan, roller skating to church in Venezuela. Other unique customs feature the giant lantern festival in the Philippines, the Day of the Candles in Colombia, and hiding brooms in Norway. The Year Three’s researched their chosen countries and presented it as a Slide Show. Finally, they made a beautiful calico Christmas stocking to add to their trees at home continuing their family traditions of adorning the tree with ornaments.
