Year 2 entrepreneurs show great heart

A group of Year 2 students have warmed our hearts with their kindness, generosity, and entrepreneurial nature.

After running their own lemonade and chocolate stands, Violet, Olivia and Jasmine decided to donate all their profits to Port Melbourne Primary's Library Fund.

The idea started simply, "It was a hot day and I thought it would be a great idea to do a lemonade stand." Olivia G said.

Violet A explained why they chose to give the money to the school - "I thought it would be a great idea to donate the money so we can get more books for everyone to enjoy reading."

"It's a great way to learn to read because we get to choose books we're interested in." Jasmine H added.

The Port Melbourne community were keen to support them, "people donated because we were giving it a red hot go. A man even bought three oranges for $10, and a teacher paid $20 for one chocolate, saying books were important."

Thanks to these young entrepreneurs there will soon be more books in our Library, proof that small stands can make a big difference!
