Lighthouse Update

Countdown to Lighthouse Launch
This term marks an exciting milestone for Clayfield College as we countdown to the launch of Lighthouse, the College’s first integrated Learning Management System and communication platform.
Why are we launching Lighthouse?
Contemporary learning environments call for education to be personalised and interactive, and for information to be timely and accessible for students, staff and families. Lighthouse is a Strategic Intent-led initiative that is grounded in Clayfield’s commitment to Wellbeing through belonging and focus on ensuring every student is known, valued and understood.
Research tells us that parent engagement is one of the most powerful influences on student success. Through our involvement in the Independent Schools Queensland 'Mastering Parent Engagement Project', Parent Forums, MMG Education survey results and ongoing conversations with our families, we have listened carefully to how parents want to connect with their child’s learning and the life of the College. By bringing learning, communication and parent connection together in one integrated platform, Lighthouse will strengthen the partnership between home and school, creating a more connected experience for students and families alike.
Lighthouse is truly a Team Clayfield effort, driven by a project team including representatives across our Academic, ICT and Advancement teams. Over the past 18 months they have collaborated, consulted, tested and refined Lighthouse to the point that it is now ready for a Parent Pilot Program and rollout.
Throughout 2026, staff and students have progressively begun using Lighthouse, while parents and staff have been invited to contribute their perspectives through consultation and parent forums. This deliberate, phased approach has given us the opportunity to listen, learn and shape the experience before introducing Lighthouse more broadly to families.
Parent Pilot Program
Parent voice will continue to matter as we prepare to launch Lighthouse. During Week 2 of Term 4, a group of Junior and Senior School parents will take part in a Parent Pilot Program, exploring Lighthouse and providing feedback and suggestions ahead of the wider parent launch in Week 4 on Thursday 29 October. We are grateful to the families who are helping us with this important stage. In addition, Clayfield staff have been provided with Lighthouse training and Communication Guidelines to create a consistent and positive experience for families.
What do I need to know?
Lighthouse will go live for all parents on Thursday 29 October, Week 4 of Term 4. The rollout has been deliberately phased across Term 4, and there will be support available to help families become familiar with the new platform.
This support will include:
The Collective Newsletter: A regular Lighthouse section will provide key milestones, tips and relevant information.
- In-person Lighthouse Parent Support Sessions: These are scheduled in Weeks 5 and 6:
- Tuesday 3 November | Clayfield College Museum | 1:45pm to 2:15pm
- Friday 6 November | Clayfield College Museum | 7:45am to 8:15am
- Tuesday 10 November | Clayfield College Museum | 1:30pm to 2:00pm
Friday 13 November | Clayfield College Museum | 7:45am to 8:15am
Parent Guide: A Lighthouse support page will provide Parent Guides and videos to help families get started.
Support Email: A dedicated support email address: lighthouse@clayfield.qld.edu.au has been established so that your enquiries can be followed up by the most appropriate team, including Academic, ICT and Communications.
Like any significant change, we expect there will be questions and opportunities to refine the experience as we go. Launching in Term 4 is an intentional decision to ensure parent, staff and student feedback will continue to inform Lighthouse beyond the launch and into 2027.
Lighthouse is more than a new platform. It is an important step in how Clayfield supports learning, strengthens connection and deepens the partnership between home and school. By bringing learning and communication together in one place, Lighthouse will help you stay meaningfully connected to your child’s educational journey, and support Clayfield’s commitment to ensuring every student is known, valued and understood.
