Zing Interschools Challenge Parent Information

The teachers and students are excited to attend the Zing Interschool Challenge at the end of the term. There are currently 110 students from Years 3-6 who will be attending.

Event Reminders

Date - Wednesday 23rd September

Location-

Olympic Park Quay Centre - 4 Olympic Boulevard Olympic Park Parking | Sydney Olympic Park

Transport-

Students MUST travel together to the venue on the bus provided by Holy Family at 3:30pm. Parents (spectators) will meet us at the location- the centre opens for parents at 4:30pm for a 5:30pm start. There is no bus returning to Holy Family, you must collect your child from Homebush

Students will stay at school until the bus arrives at 3:30pm. Teachers will stay with the students for the whole afternoon and travel.

IMPORTANT: if your child is being collected by someone other than yourself, you must provide written permission, you can email hfl@dbb.org.au to confirm these arrangements if required. This permission must be received by lunchtime on Monday 21st September.

Tickets for the Challenge

Tickets for spectators and dancers should have already been purchased through the Trybooking linkalready published in the Compass event.

At the conclusion of the event, the organisers will call blocks of school parents down to the floor of the venue. Teachers will remain with the school group until all students are collected by a parent or designated carer. If you are not attending as a spectator, then you will be allowed to collect your children from 8pm inside the venue.

Food and Refreshments

Students must bring their normal snack and lunch to school. They will also need to bring the following:

1 x snack (small, such as muesli bar, chips, piece of fruit, squeezy yoghurt) for after school

1 x dinner item (sandwich, wrap, sushi)

Please make sure that each student has a refillable drink bottle, so that they can take water with them. We will also be providing a small snack for them when they are at the venue.

Costume and Attire:

Students attend school in normal school uniform with their school bag.

As part of the upcoming Zing Activ Interschools Challenge, students will need to bring two sets of clothing:

1. Smart casual clothing with sensible, closed-in shoes for their year group dances. suitable for participating in the showcase challenge dance. Students will change into their costume at school prior to getting on the bus.

2. A white T shirt, blue jeans and white sports shoes. Holy Family will supply the accessories. Students will also need to bring a cap - any colour is fine

Please ensure all clothing and belongings are clearly labelled and packed in a bag that students can easily manage throughout the day.

Holy Family students Years 3-6 (Dancer/participant) costs of costume/bus/snacks will need to be purchased separately via the Qkr! app at a cost of $21.00 pp. This covers the cost of the bus (one way bus transportation to the event), snack and any small costume requirements.
