Camp Year 6- Scarlett and Hallie
Excitement filled the air as soon as the bus pulled into Coffs Coast Adventure Centre! One by one we stepped off the bus, greeted by the amazing smiles of the staff who would be supporting us throughout the 3 days of adventure. After finding our rooms and settling in, Year 6 and Jett got ready for the much-anticipated mud run!
The walk down to the courses felt like it took forever, especially with Miss giving a speech about how she was going to win! Luckily, our amazing instructor Jess was there to help guide us through the course and cheer us on.
We had four teams ready to take on the challenge first up were The Minions, made up of Hallie, Sophia, Lucy, Tilly M, Isabelle and Maggie. Next were The Goats, consisting of Scarlett, Charlotte, Tilly G, Ayla, Zara and Sophie. Then came The Unicorns, with Karter, Charlie, Harley, Chase, Will and Jett, and finally we had The Bosses, who had Miss McMeniman and Mr McAlister!
After all the mud, laughter and teamwork, final results were in!
1st place: The Minions
2nd place: The Bosses
3rd place: The Goats
4th place: The Unicorns-who were definitely the happiest team out there!
After getting absolutely covered in mud, it was time to head back for showers. But there was one problem…The walk to the showers felt like walking through Antarctica! The combination of freezing water and muddy clothes made it an experience we certainly won't forget anytime soon!
After dinner that night we played, minute to win it, where the St Joseph’s students went to battle with the other schools staying at the camp and came out victorious.
The next morning the weather still hadn’t improved, but we didn’t let that get our mood down. Thursday’s activities included fencing, archery, canoeing and the sky wire. The sky wire whilst nerve wracking was the best! Looking down and waiting for your partner to get strapped in was so scary but once you let go and flew through the air, it was an amazing, spectacular, wonderful experience that everyone loved.
That night we all snuggled in and watched a movie, with hot milo and some bikkies.
On the last day, we woke up with excitement to participate in the circus skills workshop. We learnt to walk on stilts, juggle, hula hoop, ribbon twirling, twirl a plate on a stick, ride the balance board and control the yo ho diablo. It was fun learning how to perform the tricks.
This was our last activity before we all boarded the bus and began our journey home. The trip to Coffs Coast Adventure Centre was so much fun and created lasting memories for us in year 6. We would like to thank all of our teachers for taking us there and spending time with us, we appreciate you!
🏕️Camp 2026 Year 5🏕️- by Ivy and Caitlin
This year we had a splendid time at camp. We all jumped off the bus with excitement ready to start our adventure at Coffs Coast Adventure Camp. Here's a recap of Year 5 amazing time at CAMP!
We were all so excited to start our activities. Year 5 started with circus skills. It was very interesting to see what kind of things you do at a circus. It was so fun to learn all different things like learning how to walk on stilts. It was quite challenging but some people could walk on them. We learnt how to juggle with some balls. We could use something called a devil stick to pass around together and it was very fun. We moved on to learning how to use a balance board which was very challenging to do. Our last activity was to use a diabolo to do flips with a string.
We woke up and we all were so excited for our big day ahead. We kicked the day off with canoeing which everyone enjoyed. It was a little bit challenging to be in sync with the person in front of you because you went in with partners. We did races and played a game of tip which was very fun in the canoes. After that we played a game where you had to pick up balls which equaled different points and at the end you added them up.
The mud run was so fun because you had to swim through watery mud, climb over obstacles and slide down steep hills. The funnest bit was that you didn’t know how deep the mud was. It was hard because you needed resilience, strength and communication to power through all the challenging obstacles. Before we finished we walked/swa through a mud mile which was very slippery. Once we finished the mud run we had a cold bore water shower. And team 3 won: Caitlin, Ivy, Eva, Ruby, Ellie
We LOVED the Skywire, it was a giant zipline that was very high off the ground. We split into 2 groups because they only had ten harnesses. As you walk up the flight of stairs you feel excited and a little bit nervous. But the harnesses have heavy duty straps so you don’t fall down. Flying down the zipline was so fun because you were zooming down a hill.
To end the day we did fencing. No, not the farm fencing the sport fencing. It was very fun and interesting to see all of the swords that they used to fight with back in the olden days they were very dangerous sharp swords. But now they are completely blunt. We even got to have a go at fencing and got dressed up in all of the fencing protection, jacket and helmet. We then learned some basic skills on how to fence, here comes the fun part. We got to play against each other and you had to try and touch the other persons chest protector with the swords, that's how you could score. While you were doing that you had to also try and stop your opponent
The last activity we did to end our 3 day Camp was Archery! We walked down to the archery ground and listened to every instruction Emma gave us. Then it was time to fire our arrows. We had a few practice rounds to get comfortable with using the bow and arrow. It was so much fun because you had to try and shoot the board without shooting straight over the hill. Only Miss McMeniman and Zara got the bullseye- it was very hard! Finally we got into 3 groups of 7 and had a competition, we all had 1-2 goes with 3 arrows each go.
It was such a fun 2026 stage 3 camp. We are very thankful for the amazing staff and teachers(Miss McMeniman,Mrs Fletcher,Miss Marshall,Mrs Kent and Mr McAllister). We also thank the instructors (Emma, Eva, Will, Colin,Thomas) and the cooks (Tim and Theo). We last but not least thank Maurice- our bus driver who transported us to and from CAMP! 🏕️⛺
