Principal's Report

Rohan Cooper

Well, hasn’t this winter weather arrived in a hurry this week? Whilst the afternoons have been bathed in sunshine, it has taken a while for the frost to thaw from our grounds in the morning! You may have seen members of our staff (me included!) wearing our CSPS beanies on these mornings. We are glad to announce that we are now selling CSPS beanies for our students! Please see the Compass post from yesterday for further details, or come straight to our office, where they are available for purchase.

As mentioned in my Compass post earlier this week, I have received communication from the Hon. Ben Carroll MP, the Deputy Premier and State Minister for Education. Mr. Carroll confirmed that “Caulfield South Primary School will receive $9 million to progress with the project to upgrade and modernise the school, including the construction of a new competition grade gymnasium.” Funding for the planning stage of this project was released in a previous budget, meaning that our school has considerably progressed the planning phase of the project.

We will keep you updated on the progress of this project via our regular communication methods.

We had a wonderful turnout (over 50 attendees!) at our 2026 Prep Information Evening last week. With thanks to our student leaders, Emily, Harley, Mieke and Sam, as well as our school leaders and Prep teachers, we discussed the learning and wellbeing approaches at our school, as well as the Kinder to Prep transition program that we run later in the year.

This is an important period for 2026 Prep enrolments, with enrolments closing on Friday 25th July for the Prep intake at all Victorian Government Primary Schools. We run school tours every Friday at 9:30am (booking link here from our website), and further enrolment information can be found here

We also presented our Annual Report to Community recently, with a small and attentive group hearing from our school leaders regarding our school performance in a variety of areas across 2024. If you would like to read the 2024 Annual Report, please follow the link to our website here.

You will see a new addition to our newsletter this week; profiles from our new and returning School Council members for 2025. The School Council play a critical role in supporting the school and I hope you enjoy the opportunity to learn a little more about each of them in coming editions of this newsletter.

Thanks for your ongoing support and keep doing your best.

Rohan
