Assistant Principal's Report

It’s been a very busy couple of weeks. Teachers are busy assessing and writing reports. These reports will provide our parents and families with a comprehensive summary of your child/children’s achievement in relation to the Victorian Curriculum 2.0 Achievement Standards. The reports will be available through the Compass platform at the end of term.
Last Wednesday, the Cowan Bunjils (Green House) were rewarded with extra play as they were Term 1s winning house. Every week, points are collected and acknowledged at Assembly. At the end of each term, the winning house is announced at the final whole school assembly. Thanks to Mrs Pappas and the Year 6 Leaders for helping set up and run the activities.
The Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RR&RR) Program at CSPS is well underway. This program aims to develop students’ social, emotional, and positive relationship skills. It helps students understand and manage their emotions, feel and express empathy and deal with challenges and change. The program helps students establish and maintain positive relationships and to embed a culture of respect and equality across the school community.
Our Respectful Relationships display board is a permanent display and is located near the double sliding doors. The board is updated regularly and highlights the important work we do and the positive messaging from the program.
You may have come across the Wheel of Choice posters displayed around the school and in classrooms.
The Wheel of Choice posters provide students with helpful strategies when they are faced with issues out in the yard. The teachers have spent time with the class explaining the different options represented on the wheel.
This will assist with our work in providing our students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become confident in managing challenging situations.
