Students in year 3 and above are invited to join the St Patrick's Parish Young People's Choir. Led by our former music teacher Mrs Ann Earle, the choir rehearses after school in the Parish Choir Room every Wednesday after school until 4.30pm. It is free of charge and we sing once a month at the Sunday 5.00pm Mass. The dates this term are May 31 and June 28. We sing traditional and contemporary repertoire. The choir sings in two part harmony, with both a traditional and contemporary repertoire and sounds absolutely beautiful.

Whole School Mass -9:15am Tuesday 5th May

All families and friends are warmly invited to join our students next Tuesday as we gather to celebrate our first Mass of the term. Together, we will give thanks for the beginning of a new season of learning, continue to rejoice in the Easter season, and offer a special tribute to the wonderful women in our lives. As we prepare for Mother’s Day, we honour those who guide, nurture and love us so faithfully, following the beautiful example of Mary, our Mother.

The month of May has long been dedicated to Mary, the mother of Jesus, as a special time to honour her love, faith and gentle guidance. In the Catholic tradition, May is a season of new life and growth, making it a fitting time to reflect on Mary, who said “yes” to God and brought Jesus into the world.

During May, we also celebrate Mother’s Day, a time to give thanks for the love and care of our mothers. This connects beautifully with our devotion to Mary, who is not only Jesus’ mother, but our mother too. When Jesus was on the cross, he entrusted Mary to his disciple John, saying, “Behold your mother.” In that moment, Mary became a mother to all of us, loving and caring for us as her children.

As we honour Mary this month, we also recognise and give thanks for all the significant women in our lives—mothers, grandmothers, carers, teachers and friends—who guide us, nurture us and show us love each day. Like Mary, they are examples of kindness, strength and faith, helping us grow to be the people God calls us to be.
