Mitch Tambo

Last Friday, 21 August, Mitcham Primary School was delighted to welcome Mitch Tambo back for another inspiring visit. As always, Mitch was excited to return to MPS and delivered an engaging and energetic performance for our students.

Mitch entertained us with songs performed in both English and Gamilaraay, showcased his didgeridoo playing, invited students on stage to dance, and shared some of his new music. During his visit, he also led a yarning session, sharing stories and experiences from his life. His messages centred on being proud of who you are, having the courage to be yourself, and never giving up.

The students not only learned a great deal from Mitch, but also had a wonderful time singing, dancing, and participating throughout the performance. Following the main event, a small group of students had the opportunity to join Mitch in a yarning circle. They asked thoughtful questions about his career, culture, and life experiences, and Mitch encouraged them to share their own stories as well. As Mitch reminded us, we can all learn from one another.
