Academic Awards Assembly
Last week, we gathered as a College community for our Year 12 Academic Awards Assembly, a special occasion recognising the academic achievements of our Year 12 students as they enter the final chapter of their schooling journey.
As graduation draws closer, the assembly provided an opportunity to celebrate the dedication, perseverance and commitment these students have shown throughout their years at Mount Alvernia College. Together, we acknowledged students who achieved Bronze, Silver and Gold Academic Achievement Awards for Semester 1, 2026, as well as those who demonstrated significant academic improvement.
Academic Achievement Awards
The Academic Achievement Awards recognise students whose Semester 1 results reflect a sustained commitment to academic excellence.
- Bronze Award: GPA 12.5 – 12.9
- Silver Award: GPA 13.0 – 13.4
- Gold Award: GPA 13.5 and above
As our Year 12 students prepare to take their next steps beyond the College gates, these awards acknowledge not only their academic success, but also the resilience, discipline and determination that will serve them well into the future.

Academic Improvement Awards
We also celebrated students whose GPA improved by one point or more in Semester 1, 2026 compared with Semester 2, 2025.
As students near the end of their secondary education, these improvements are a powerful reminder that growth is always possible. Meaningful progress is rarely accidental. It comes from consistent effort, a willingness to challenge oneself, and the courage to keep striving for personal bests.
These students should be incredibly proud of the progress they have made and the commitment they have shown throughout their Year 12 journey.
Thank you to the families who joined us to celebrate these achievements and support our students at this important milestone. We are incredibly proud of all our Year 12 students as they continue their final year at Mount Alvernia College and look ahead to the exciting opportunities that await them.
