Anatomy by Dissection

Our amazing Dissection students have been hard at work completing some DNA extractions and various other Microscope activities.

They are also gearing up for the Parent/Guardian presentation morning.  This is where they will choose a dissection for their parents/guardians to complete and guide them through it.  What a way to start the day! 😊

Year 7 STEP 

Our Year 7 STEP students have been having fun this term with some dissections and our absolutely fabulous STEP Astronomy Night!!! 

Saturn was particularly beautiful and we learnt that soon it will tilt to such an angle that the rings will not be visible from earth (this is normal…they will reappear 😊).

We gazed in awe as the international space station flew past, and marvelled at the different globular star clusters. A Sun kissed “fingernail” moon looked stunning in size, clarity and detail.

We also got a chance to see the amazing Alpha Centauri (the brightest star in our pointers) is actually 2 stars (space friends dancing the night away).  Thanks to our students and parents/guardians for your enthusiasm and support and to Mornington Peninsular Astronomical Society for running the night.
