Sacred Heart Appeal

URGENT APPEAL FROM SACRED HEART PRIMARY SCHOOL

Our school will be hosting 16 children from the Yarralin community school in the Northern Territory as part of their trip to Victoria on 1 September.

The children will be visiting Melbourne and Victoria for only one week and, thanks to Mr Richardson and his sister who happens to be the Principal of this remote school, they are coming to Sacred Heart in Colac as part of their trip.

We have all sorts of activities planned but we need some help.

It is our understanding that none of these children have been to Victoria before. None of them have experienced a Victorian winter before. None of them own a jumper!

The 16 children are 11 and 12 years old and we would like to gather some donated windcheaters and tracksuit pants to protect them from the cold Victorian weather.

We understand that Trinity has just overwhelmingly supported the Vinnie’s Winter Appeal, but if you missed the boat and perhaps still have some items that you can donate to these children, we are going to try to transport them to Melbourne so they are waiting for them at their accommodation.

The children’s sizes range from 10 to 14. Donations can be left at Sacred Heart school’s front office this week.

We are also looking for a couple of couriers who could drop these donations at the “Urban Camp” on Bren’s Drive in Parkville (near the Zoo) on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday this week.

Please telephone the school on 5231 5292 if you are able to help out with this delivery.

Many thanks!
