Principals Message

End of Term 1 Message

As we approach the end of Term 1, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a busy and highly successful start to the year at Trafalgar Primary School.

Across the term, students have been engaged in a wide range of learning and school experiences. Our Year 3 and 5 students completed NAPLAN, demonstrating strong focus and effort. We have also enjoyed key whole-school events including our Swimming Program and Carnival, and Athletics Sports, all of which highlight the strong participation and school spirit within our community.

On Wednesday 25th, I had the privilege of attending the Victorian School Sport Awards alongside our Physical Education staff and Student Sports Captains. I am incredibly proud to share that Trafalgar Primary School has now been recognised at these awards for the third consecutive year. This is a significant achievement and reflects the strength of our Physical Education program, the commitment of our staff, and the enthusiasm and participation of our students. It also speaks to the strong partnerships we continue to build within our local sporting community.

A reminder to families that Parent Teacher Interviews can now be booked through Compass. These will be held on:

  • Wednesday 1st April (evening)
  • Thursday 2nd April (morning)

These meetings are an important opportunity to discuss your child’s learning progress and set goals for the term ahead.

You will also shortly receive your child’s second GPA Progress Report for the year. These reports provide a snapshot of your child's learning behaviours.  They are designed to support conversations between school and home and to ensure we are working together to support each child’s growth.

I would also like to acknowledge the industrial action that took place on Tuesday 24th   and thank our families for their understanding and flexibility on this day. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Finally, I would like to thank our staff for their dedication and professionalism, and our students for the positive way they have approached their learning this term. It has been particularly pleasing to see the strong routines and expectations established across the school, setting a solid foundation for the year ahead.

We wish all families a safe and enjoyable break and look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 2.

Sincerely,

Cameron Nicholls
