PBL

Our Rewards tube is full and as such it is time to prepare for our whole school PBL reward. These whole school rewards are a great time for our entire school to celebrate the proud achievements that have been made. Its not just rewarding good behaviour but students being organised and taking care of their appearance (Care for Self), looking after their friends and peers (Care for Others) focussing and working hard on their learning (Care for Learning), and taking care of our beautiful school and environment (Care for School).

This reward will take place on Monday 30th March, please see the flyer below!

Positive Behaviour for Learning - 2026 Update

At Gympie East State School, our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program continues to play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive and respectful school environment and 2026 has started strongly!

Each Monday morning, we come together for our PBL Parade, where our Year 5 students confidently lead the school by sharing the weekly behaviour focus. These student leaders are doing a fantastic job modelling expectations and helping to set the tone for a positive week ahead.

Throughout the week, students are recognised for demonstrating positive behaviours by earning “worms.” These are collected and celebrated during our Friday afternoon parade, where selected students are lucky winners in our weekly worm draw. All worms are then added to our whole-school worm tube, contributing towards a shared reward. Our current goal is a whole school Movie Day, and excitement is building as we work together to reach it!

Supporting this is our reflective process, introduced at the beginning of 2025. This process provides students with the opportunity to reflect on their choices during break times and consider what they could do differently in the future. It has been incredibly effective, with a significant reduction in the number of reflections needed—currently sitting at around half compared to the same time last year and in 2024.

We are incredibly proud of the growth our students are showing, not only academically but also socially and emotionally. A big thank you goes to our dedicated staff, who continue to support, guide and teach our students in all areas of their development.

Gympie East is a place where positive behaviour is celebrated, and it’s wonderful to see our students thriving!

Kind regards,
