YEAR 5 TRIATHLON

Last week, the Year 5 students had a practise swim session in preparation for the triathlon.

On Tuesday or Thursday, to complete the triathlon the students were required to swim 4 laps of the school pool, ride their bike 4 times around the school carpark and basketball courts and then finish 4 laps of a run/walk around the oval. Participating in the triathlon was not an event where students were competing against each other, but an event that students could participate in and set their own personal goals of achievement. Many students were quite nervous prior to the event, but once they started their nerves disappeared and smiles appeared on their faces.

It was fantastic to see the students enjoying the new experience whilst being active at the same time.

Congratulations to the Year 5 students who completed the school triathlon.

Thank you to the parents who came along to support all the students as well as assisting with supervision.

JUNIOR SPORT DAY

The "weather gods" were very kind to us - sunny, but not too hot - allowing for a wonderful Junior Sport Carnival. It was fabulous to see our junior school students dressed in their house colours participating enthusiastically in 6 activities – egg and spoon, sack races, 3 legged races, hurdles, sprints and throws. Any of the Sporting carnivals rely on a supportive school community. The event was a success as a result of our very enthusiastic and energetic students, our dedicated teachers and our very impressive House Captains and Vice-captains and School Captains.

It was also wonderful to see so many parents supporting the HPE extra-curricularr program and our students.
