The House Athletics Carnivals for 2025 were held over two days. The days were very successful, and we were lucky enough to have perfect sunny weather. Everyone had a fantastic time!
The first day, Thursday 24th July, Valkstone students competed in the track events at Duncan MacKinnon Reserve. The second day, on Monday 28th July, students competed in the field events, also held at Duncan MacKinnon Reserve. There were many outstanding results recorded across the track and field events. Students had a wonderful day at the field events competing in the shot put, discus, high jump, long jump and triple jump. There was also a games station for a bit more fun! Students were running their hardest in the 100-m and 200-m sprints and in the 800-m and 1500-m long distance events.
Thanks must go out to all the parent helpers who assisted on the day, our amazing house captains and our ES staff. Without your support, the day would simply not happen. Thanks to all the teachers who were involved, you all did an outstanding job! We also had some Year 9 students from McKinnon Secondary, thank you for your assistance with measuring!
Congratulations to all students on your participation, sportsmanship and incredible skills over the two marvellous days!
Here are the house rankings across the track & field days!

Congratulations to our Spikezone team and soccer team on an amazing winter season of interschool sport.
The Spikezone team lost to a very strong McKinnon team 3-0 in sets, however the scores in the sets were very close. Well done to the team and to Miss M on a great season.
Mr Batt’s soccer team had a 2-0 win over Bentleigh West Primary School in extra time! What a way to finish out a season!
We look forward to seeing how our summer teams go next term!
