CAMP ADANAC

Grade 3

In the first week of Term 3, the Grade 3 students headed off on their first ever school camp!  There was much excitement and the bus on the way to Camp ADANAC was abuzz with chatter and laughter. Once at camp, we had our fruit and snack. Then the students found their cabins and started making up their beds. After that, students got into their Activity Groups for the first of their six activities. Activities included canoeing, flying fox, archery, disc golf, aqua ponding, camp cooking, photo hunt, hut building and low ropes/beach volleyball.

Participating in the activities made the children extremely hungry, so it was a bonus that the food at Camp ADANAC was delicious and plentiful!! Our afternoon tea consisted of freshly baked M&M cookies, which were still warm and gooey on the inside. For dinner we feasted on AFC (ADANAC Fried Chicken) with rice, vegetables and a choice of sweet chilli, honey soy or teriyaki sauces. This was followed by dessert, which was vanilla ice-cream with the choice of every topping imaginable and 3 different types of sprinkles. For breakfast we had a selection of cereals, yoghurt, toast, fruit and porridge. Morning tea was served after our first 2 activities, and we were treated to freshly made jam donuts and popcorn. Our last meal was lunch, and we enjoyed beef burgers where we could add cheese, tomato, beetroot, pineapple, lettuce and onion. We also had a choice of 11 different sauces!

The Grade 3s had an amazing time and we thank all the adults that helped make our camp so successful. Special thanks to Miss Meyerowitz, Miss Blacker and Mrs Dawson (who joined us for the day) and to Chin (Jasmine’s mum), Diana (Ariel’s mum), Vicki (Asher’s mum) and Michael (Jaxon’s dad).
