Open Day Preparations Well Underway

There is a real sense of excitement in the workshops as everyone works towards being ready for Open Day. Students across all classes have been working diligently on their projects, and it has been very pleasing to see the progress they are making. The effort, creativity and skills being demonstrated are a credit to the students and staff involved.

We are looking forward to showcasing the wide range of projects completed throughout the year. Visitors to Open Day will have the opportunity to see firsthand the quality of work being produced and the practical skills our students are developing. I am confident that our displays will be well worth a look and will provide an excellent insight into the Design and Technology programs on offer at the College.

In Construction, the cubby house projects are progressing well and remain on track to be completed in time for Open Day. These student-built cubbies have been designed and constructed to a high standard and are sure to attract plenty of attention. If you have been thinking about adding a cubby house to your backyard, Open Day will be a great opportunity to inspect them in person. Visitors will be able to submit a tender offer for the completed cubby houses, making it possible to take home a unique, quality-built project while supporting our students and programs.

The Engineering students have been busy fabricating, welding and grinding their projects to achieve a professional finish. Their commitment to producing neat, high-quality work is evident, and their completed projects will be a great example of the practical skills and technical knowledge gained in the workshop.

In Automotive, students are working hard to complete the practical tasks required for their courses while preparing a strong display for Open Day. Visitors will be able to see a range of activities and projects that showcase the skills students have developed in vehicle maintenance, repair and workshop procedures.

We look forward to welcoming the community to Open Day and sharing the outstanding work being completed by our students. The dedication and effort being shown across all areas is impressive, and Open Day will provide a fantastic opportunity to celebrate their achievements.

End of Term 3 Focus

As we approach the end of Term 3, students, particularly those completing certificate courses, should be focusing on finishing both their theory work and required practical competencies. Staying on top of assessment tasks and practical requirements now will help ensure that courses and certificates can be completed smoothly and on time.

Students who make a concerted effort to complete outstanding work before the end of the term will place themselves in a much stronger position heading into the end of Term 3 and sign-off. This proactive approach reduces pressure on both students and staff and allows everyone to focus on achieving the best possible outcomes.

Students are encouraged to speak with their teacher or trainer to gain a clear understanding of any outstanding requirements that need to be completed before they can be signed off as competent. Regular communication and a willingness to seek clarification will help students stay on track and avoid any last-minute surprises. By making the most of the remaining class time and workshop opportunities, students can ensure they are meeting all course requirements and setting themselves up for success as they move towards the completion of their studies and qualifications.
