A Sky of Prayer for Our Blessed Mother
This Saturday, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, one of the most important Marian feast days in our Catholic faith.
Thank you to all our families who have already sent in your beautiful family prayers for our Sky of Prayer Wall. Please keep them coming as we hope to fill our sky with the prayers of our whole school community in honour of Mary.
May Mary bring all our prayers closer to Jesus.
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Mass will be celebrated on
Friday 14th August at 6pm or
Saturday 15th August at 9 am
at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Kindergarten and Year 1 - Family and Faith Afternoon
Our Kindergarten children explored how Mary brings us closer to Jesus. We discovered that when we pray the Rosary, each Hail Mary can be thought of as offering a beautiful flower to Mary. Families then created their own flowers and wrote a special family prayer on them, a beautiful reminder that we can bring our prayers to Mary and ask her to lead us closer to her Son, Jesus.
Our Year 1 families explored the theme “Jesus is Our Superhero.” We discovered that Jesus is unlike any ordinary superhero. He knows each of us by name, loves us completely and gave His life for us on the Cross. We also learnt that Mary always points us towards Jesus and helps us to know and love Him more.
It was wonderful to see children and parents learning, creating, praying and growing in faith side by side.
A heartfelt thank you to all our parents and carers who took time out of their busy schedules to join us. Your presence makes these moments especially meaningful for your children.
May we continue to walk together as families, growing ever closer to Jesus.
Wishing you a blessed week ahead,
Cindy Miu
