The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
On Saturday, 15th August, the Church celebrates one of the most significant feast days of the liturgical year: the Feast of the Assumption. This Holy Day of Obligation honors our belief that at the conclusion of her earthly life, Mary was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory.
The Assumption is a profound sign of hope and comfort for the entire Church. It serves as a powerful reminder that Jesus has conquered sin and death, and it points toward the glorious destiny that awaits all who trust in the Lord and follow Him faithfully.
Mary holds a unique place in our faith; through her total trust and obedience to God’s word, she became the first to share in the fullness of the Resurrection that Christ promises to all His people. As Saint Paul teaches, "in Christ all will be made alive," and Mary stands as the model for our own journey toward eternal life.
Prayer Service details:
As a school community, we will celebrate this beautiful feast together with a special prayer service led by our Year 3 students. This service is an opportunity for us to gather in reflection, honoring Mary as a sign of sure hope and asking for her continued guidance as we strive to bring hope to others.

Year 6- Sacrament of Confirmation
As a faith community, we hold our Year 6 students in prayer as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. This is a significant moment in their faith journey, as they choose to strengthen their relationship with God and embrace the gifts of the Holy Spirit in a deeper and more intentional way.
Over the past weeks, our students have been engaging in thoughtful preparation with Father Richard, exploring what it means to be called, guided, and strengthened by the Spirit. Their sessions have helped them understand the meaning of Confirmation, the responsibilities that come with it, and the ways they can continue to grow as young people of faith.
To support their spiritual formation, Year 6 will participate in a Spirituality Day on Thursday, 27 August. This special day will give students time for prayer, reflection, learning, and community-building as they prepare their hearts for the sacrament.
The Sacrament of Confirmation will take place on Friday, 28 August, and we look forward to celebrating this joyful occasion with our parish and school community.
We ask all families to join us in praying for our Year 6 candidates that they may be open to the Holy Spirit, strengthened in faith, and inspired to live out Christ’s mission with courage and love.
May the gifts of the Spirit guide them always.
