Principal's Report

School Concert

As you could imagine, preparation for the concert is capturing much of our attention at the moment.  To streamline communication with parents, we have created a dedicated concert page in the weekly newsletter and will have a concert information booklet to share.  That document should be ready to go in the next week.

Chess Club  

As mentioned previously, our chess club is proving to be very popular this year, which is nice to see.  The kids come together in Ms Geddes classroom during the first break each Tuesday and thoroughly enjoy playing multiple chess games.

This year we have struck up a relationship with the chess club at Mt Clear College, which is proving to be a bonus.  Last term they came and joined us for a session, which worked well and last week we returned the favour and travelled to Mt Clear College for a mini tournament.  This was very successful, with each of the students playing 6 matches and picking up quite a few tips and tricks from the Mt Clear students and staff. 

It’s lovely to see how much the kids are getting out of the chess program, with the benefits going well beyond the development of chess knowledge and skills.  We look forward to seeing what the kids can accomplish over the remainder of this year and welcome new students to give it a try.  

Industrial Action

Once again, thanks to everyone for your understanding and patience with the stop work actions that have been taken.  At this stage we have had nothing confirmed in terms of further action and will update you as soon as possible should something arise.
