Reflection
Friday 12 December
This Sunday is the third Sunday of Advent, Gaudete Sunday. The word, Gaudete, (pronounced gow-day-tay) is from Latin and means Rejoice! It is fitting that as the Church prepares to Rejoice and celebrate the birth of Christ, our school year comes to a close and our students rejoice. At our end of year whole school Mass on Thursday morning, with our Christmas Concert on Tuesday night, our Grade 6 graduation Liturgy on Thursday evening, the primary school colour run, the primary and secondary Advent liturgies each Friday during Advent and with the VCE results, we have been celebrating life, the love of Christ, community, achievements, friendship, courage, strength, compassion and endeavour.
During the year our school community actively supported Caritas, St Vincent de Paul Society, Opening the Doors Foundation and a number of other Charities. The Christmas Vinnies appeal funds will be used to purchase vouchers for St Vincent de Paul Society to give to those in need over Christmas and the coming year. We are grateful for the support our community has given each time we have asked for your assistance. God has no hands but ours.
May we remember to be the hands and feet of God as we support all in need this Christmas season.
