PRIMARY (F-6)

School Leader Report - Kara
Wow! What a finish to a fun-filled year!
The Year 5/6 Camp last week was a huge success, with many experiencing their first opportunity to ride a tram, visit the Vic Market and stand on the MCG turf! Students represented themselves and the college brilliantly and all feedback from staff at the CYC Camp, transport companies and the college was nothing but positive about the way students conducted themselves in public, used manners, and respectfully enquired during tours.
Tuesday night's Christmas Concert was a demonstration of perseverance and presentation. Students have worked all term on their number. Learning not only lyrics and actions, but placement, timing, and communal listening. I think you’d agree it was a fantastic night! Thankyou for your attendance and participation in another college Concert.
Fun continued into Wednesday, where our school leaders organised and lead the sports session, colour run, and bucket challenge. We are fortunate to have such forward thinking students, and staff who will go the extra mile to support their plans – even taking a bucket of ice, glitter, orbies, or mud for their success!
I would like to wish all of our college families a safe and happy Christmas break, enjoy some down time and fun together with your family, recharging after another busy year. We look forward to seeing you all in the new year!
Class Reports
Foundation
The children have certainly had a fun filled last two weeks of school and are now ready for a holiday. They enjoyed making a card and a present for their buddy. The children always look forward to sessions with their buddies, and we thank the Grade 6 students for the way they looked out for the Foundation students.
The children enjoyed their first St Anne’s Christmas Concert. They sang and danced beautifully and had a great time.
Nikea and Glenice would like to thank the parents for all their support this year. The children have made great progress in their learning and should be very proud of what they have achieved.
Year 2
The Year 2 students have had a wonderful finish to the year, wrapping up their units of
work and having loads of fun participating in the Colour Run and disco on our Celebration Day! Our end of year Christmas Concert on Tuesday was a huge success. Thank you to all the families who joined us - it was a fantastic community event and the perfect way to celebrate another amazing year of learning.
We wish all our Year 2 families a safe and joyful Christmas and New Year, and we look forward to seeing the children (maybe an inch taller!) when they return in 2026.

Year 3/4
The last two weeks of the year are always hectic for students and staff, but they are some of the most enjoyable weeks we spend at school. There’s so many things to do! Finishing off our Literacy and Maths work for this term has been a priority, but then it was on to the fun stuff: our special end of year activities and preparing for Christmas!
In Year 3/4 students have enjoyed a range of revision tasks disguised as fun Christmas and Summer Holiday activities. We’ve also be having regular Christmas Concert rehearsal and the students sound fantastic – we were so happy to see lots of our families at the concert! Students have done a wonderful job making all sorts of things for the Christmas Market too which was a resounding success.
On behalf of the Year 3/4 Team, we wish all our St Anne’s College families a Merry Christmas and safe and happy holiday time with friends and families.
Year 5
What a way to finish of the year for our Grade 5 students. Last week we participated in a Melbourne city camp with the Grade 6 students. So much learning occurred for all, both academically and socially.
The students provided some quotes about their time on camp:
- It was very interesting and a lot of new fun stuff to do. Aki
- Going to parliament house and learning about the green room, the red room and how the gold on the roof was actually goal. Lucas
- Seeing St Paul’s Cathedral and lots of other new places. Mia
- I like playing camp Bingo. Japji
- I liked the big park that we went to as it had lots of things for us to do. Fateh D
- The MCG was fun because the sports museum had a lot of facts. Fateh P
- The Sky Deck was so high it was a really good view. Alex
- I liked when we went to the Sky Deck and afterwards going to see the Christmas lights. Pragunn
- I saw lots of different buildings and shops while we were walking through the city. Poulo
- The bedrooms were very nice. Guneet
This week we have participated in the colour fun run, advent liturgy, whole school transition day to meet our new teacher and our school Christmas concert. What a week! Kara and myself have been very fortunate to have the role of Year 5 Learning Mentors this year; today we gathered in a circle to share our favourite, most joyful memory of the year (which was hard to choose as there are so many). For some it was the Athletics Day, swimming program, the individual learning journey, friends made or camp. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing them all again in 2026.

Year 6
Rites of Passage
Year 6 Graduation
We celebrated not just an end, but a beautiful beginning for our Year 6 students this week. Our students have grown in faith, wisdom and friendship and we couldn’t be prouder of the young people they’ve become. May God continue to guide your steps as you journey into high school with courage and joy.
To mark our Year 6 students' learning journey at St Anne's College we held a beautiful liturgy, certificate presentation and a walk down memory lane. It is a significant moment as many of our Year 6 students began at St Anne's in 2019 as our first ever Foundation cohort! Well done, Class of 2025!
Year 5/6 Camp
The Year 5/6 students have been very busy recently. They had an incredible few days exploring Melbourne on camp and discovering some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. One highlight tour of the MCG, where everyone loved seeing behind the scenes of one of Australia’s most famous sporting arenas. From the players’ rooms to the vast stands, it was a highlight for many.
At Parliament House, students stepped into the world of government and leadership. They enjoyed learning how laws are made and even had the chance to sit in the chambers—an inspiring experience that brought their civics learning to life.
A visit to Queen Victoria Market added flavour and fun to the trip. Students wandered through the bustling stalls, sampling treats, spotting souvenirs, and soaking up the lively atmosphere.
We wrapped up with an exciting trip to the Melbourne Skydeck, taking in breathtaking views of the city from above. For some, it was their first time seeing Melbourne from such great heights!
Overall, camp was filled with learning, laughter, and new experiences. Our Grade 5/6 students showed great teamwork, enthusiasm, and curiosity throughout, and we’re so proud of the way they represented our school.

Physical Education
The primary students have been amazing once again this term. In Physical Education, we have concentrated on striking and hitting. This has had its challenges as it seems like the wind has not stopped since September. We have played tennis on the wonderful oval here at school and the students did a terrific job and the level of improvement was significant for some. Students then went on to cricket and once again were outstanding. Bowling is still a work in progress, but many have continued to improve along the way. Some excellent batting skills were on display and most experienced successful outcomes with this hitting component. Grade 6 went on an excursion to play Badminton and thoroughly got to appreciate what a great sport it is, requiring a high standard of hand eye coordination. The thing that really stands out here is the level of enthusiasm, the sense of teamwork and ‘having a go’. Students are to be congratulated on their efforts in these areas over the course of the year and these attributes have made my job very easy.
I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday and festive season and look forward to more fun outside in 2026.

Final Primary Assembly for 2025
We gathered for our last Primary Assembly of the year last week which was a wonderful celebration of learning, achievement and community spirit.
We officially congratulated our ICAS participants and wished our Year 6 students good luck for the next exciting chapter of their schooling journey.
Thank you to our students for a fabulous year filled with growth, curiosity and joy.

Parents/carers are reminded there is a very important process to follow if your student must leave the college at any time throughout school hours. Please ensure you follow these steps:
Parents/carers MUST provide a note to the front office, at the start of the school day, stating the following:
- Student Name
- Date of leave required
- The time the student must present to reception to take their leave
- If they will return to the college the same day, and if so what time they will return
- The reason for the leave being requested
- The parent/carer’s name and signature
Please note, students will only be permitted to be collected by their parent/carer unexpectedly and without a note if it is an emergency.
We remind all that the college opens at 8:30am. This enables educators time to prepare for their day ahead. We appreciate your support in helping our educators be successful. Yard duty staff begin at 8:30am to monitor play spaces before the school day begins at 8:55am.
