Parents' Association

It’s been a fantastic start to Term 4, with plenty happening already and lots more to look forward to!
A huge thank you to everyone who got involved in last week’s Ned’s Uncomfortable Challenge. It was wonderful to see so many people getting behind the event, from parents getting out there and doing laps, to those cheering everyone on, acting as marshals and handing out fruit at the finish. We managed to more than double the expected number of laps, which is an amazing effort! We’re looking forward to hearing the final fundraising tally and seeing how much we've raised for the charity, as well as towards the restoration of our much-loved Rocket.
Our first second-hand uniform shop and morning tea for the term was held last week and was really well attended. We currently have a good stock of uniforms, but please keep those donations coming! If you've been sorting through cupboards and have uniforms your children have outgrown, we'd love to have them.
We're planning a BIG weekend uniform shop on Saturday 28th November, coinciding with the upcoming election. This will be a great opportunity to stock up for next year, so keep the date free!
Looking ahead:
Election Day will also bring one of our biggest fundraising opportunities, with our ever-popular cake stall and barbecue. We'll be calling for volunteers to help run both, so start thinking about whether you can spare some time on the day. We'll also be asking for donations of home-baked goodies, which can be delivered to the school on the Friday before the election. Time to start thinking about what delicious treats you might like to bake! More details will follow closer to the date.
We also have our Spoil the Staff Day coming up soon, in recognition of World Teachers' Day. This is always a lovely opportunity for us to show our appreciation for the wonderful staff at Syndal South. We'll be providing lunch for the teachers, and if you'd like to contribute towards the day, please get in touch with me directly via email.
Looking towards next year:
There are still a few more activities planned for the remainder of this year, and we're already busy planning some exciting events for Terms 1 and 2 next year.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 25th November, which will be our Parents Association Annual General Meeting. It's a chance to look back on everything we've achieved this year, celebrate our successes and start planning for the year ahead.
We're particularly keen to welcome some new faces onto the PA committee. With a number of our current members having older children who will be moving on from the school over the next year or two, we'd love to start bringing some new people into the group.
If you've ever thought about getting involved, please consider coming along! The PA is all about organising fun activities for the kids, raising money to improve our school and bringing our community together. It's a lovely group of people to work with, and the commitment really is manageable. You don't need to take on a big role — there are plenty of smaller jobs that make a huge difference.
We'd love to see some new faces and share the fun with more of our school community.
As always, thank you for your continued support. We couldn't make all these events happen without you!
