Secondary Update

Wow! The term has flown by. It’s been a busy season with camps, excursions, testing, and a range of sporting and cultural achievements. Thank you to our teachers for organising these opportunities, and to our students who continue to represent the College with Curiosity, Respect, Excellence, Service and Hope. We regularly receive positive feedback from the wider community about our students’ conduct.

A recent highlight was our student leaders’ visit to Caloola Court, where they assisted with the monthly church service and shared time with resident - an enriching experience for both students and residents alike.

Student Leadership

This term has involved applications, interviews, and training for those interested in student leadership. Students have reflected on the distinctives of Christian leadership and how to serve and encourage their peers. It has been a privilege for staff to hear their stories and see their heart for others. Our 2026 student leadership team will be announced this Wednesday - please continue to pray for them, and for all students as they grow in learning to lead themselves and others well.

Year 12

Year 12 have finalised their HSC major works in Music and Design & Technology before preparing for written exams, which begin on 16 October. Their Graduation Assembly will be held on Friday 26 September at 9:30am in the MPC. Please uphold them in prayer during this exciting but challenging stage of life.

Year 11

Yearly exams begin this Friday and conclude Wednesday of Week 10. Consistent study, good nutrition, and rest will be vital for students as they prepare.

Uniform

Winter uniform is to be worn until the end of Term 3. Summer uniform is required from the start of Term 4.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Thank you to parents who connected with staff during interviews. If you were unable to attend, please reach out to your child’s teachers to arrange a time - we value these conversations at any point in the year.

Eisteddfod Success

Congratulations to our Senior Band for their outstanding performances at the City of Wagga Eisteddfod - 2nd place in the Ensembles Section and 1st place in the Orchestral Section. A wonderful achievement and reflection of their dedication.

As we approach the end of the term, my prayer is that you enjoy some refreshing family time in the holidays. We look forward to finishing Term 3 strongly and stepping into the opportunities ahead in Term 4.

English Studies Excursion

On Tuesday 9th September, Year 11 and Year 12 English Studies students visited the birthplace of one of Australia's most famous sportsmen - Sir Donald Bradman.

This excursion provided students with the opportunity to engage with the local community of Cootamundra and learn more about Don Bradman's cricket career and broader impact on Australian culture and identity. Students enjoyed exploring the exhibits, which consisted of donating memorabilia, photographs, newspapers, and informative displays about Bradman's life.

Abraham's Eagle Nebula

Below is an 'Eagle Nebula', photographed with our deep-space telescope and processed by Abraham Godfrey in Year 9 Astronomy!

This is his first effort and represents hours of work. Great effort! The Eagle Nebula is about 6500 light years away and contains a star-forming region in the middle called the Pillars of Creation. If you can zoom in to the centre of the image you get a glimpse of the pillars.
