Cross Country

On Wednesday 20 May, our Cross-Country team competed at the ISA Cross Country Championships Carnival held at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre in Horsley Park.

We achieved some excellent results, 3rd in the Junior Boys’ Division, 5th in the Intermediate Boys’ Division, 2nd in the Senior Boys’ Division and 3rd place overall.

A special mention goes to Cristiano Calcarao, who won the Gold with the 15 years boys' 4km race, and Tyler Jago achieving the Silver with the 18 years boys' 6km race.

Well done to all who took part and those who stepped up to support the team, you represented the school proudly and respectfully.

The following students made Top 12 and may may move on to represent ISA at CIS:

Another weekend of good results for many teams.  This weekend sees all teams playing away. Please pay attention to Clipboard for any changes, particularly with the forecast for inclement weather. Most fixtures are on synthetic fields so will go ahead even with wet weather.

A shout out to the 14B’s who, as a group, won their first game in 1 1/2 years playing in a tough division.

Please see the attached for a brief match report.

Good luck to all teams this weekend.

ISA Round 2 – Oakhill College

It was a competitive weekend across the rugby program, with our teams showing strong effort and resilience against quality opposition. The senior sides competed with determination, led by a disciplined 1st XV performance, while the 2nd and 3rd XVs continued to show commitment and growth.

The 16As produced a composed and well-structured display, and the 13Bs were particularly impressive with a confident, cohesive performance. Across the remaining age groups, results were mixed, but the attitude, work rate, and support for one another remained consistent, providing a solid foundation to build on as the season progresses

Squash

It was great to see some highly competitive squash matches over the weekend. Looking ahead, the most critical area for team improvement is court positioning.

Many of our players struggled with the confidence needed to dominate the T. Controlling the centre of the court gives you the tactical advantage to dictate the pace and direction of the game. However, holding this position is always a battle. Players must be prepared to assert themselves physically and mentally if they want to command the centre of the court.

Tennis

Despite the weather, all games went ahead over the weekend, and our First V had another dominant win over the well placed St Andrew’s Cathedral School. The boys are really starting to hit their straps. Div 2 also recorded a convincing win over St Paul’s Grammar at Springwood while our Div 4 team dug deep in the final doubles game to share the points at 4 sets all, and all games even.

With wet weather setting in, it might be a good opportunity to watch the pros doing their thing on the clay courts of Roland Garros.

Please check the SPX app and Clipboard in case of wet weather for Saturday.

Round 5 -  30 May

Div 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 are at home against St Patrick’s Strathfield at Love ‘n Deuce Talus St. Please bring a plate of food to share.

Div 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 are against St Patrick’s Strathfield at Strathfield Sports Club - 19 Morwick Street Strathfield.

Div 11 against St Andrew’s Cathedral School at Heffron Tennis - 439 Bunnerong Rd, Matraville

Div 12 have the bye: No game.

Clipboard has the necessary venue information.

Please email me prior to Friday 8:00 am, if you know that your son is unable to play. Please check the SPX app and Clipboard in case of wet weather.

Looking forward to the weekend!
