History
The Year 9 Elective History students have been busy constructing a replica artefact from the ancient Roman or Egypt period. There were some outstanding creations which have been on display in the entrance to the Senior Resources Centre. The students also researched the story behind the object with its origins, creator and significance explored. This has been a very well completed assessment task that has investigated the ancient past in some depth.

Maths Drop-In
It has been fantastic to see such a strong turnout from students in Years 7–12 attending our Maths Drop-In sessions. These sessions provide an excellent opportunity for students to revise classwork, ask questions, strengthen their understanding of key concepts, and prepare thoroughly for upcoming exams and assessment tasks.
With exams fast approaching, now is the perfect time to stay organised and begin revision early. This week in French Club, students explored the life and works of Claude Monet, one of the founders of the Impressionist Movement. Our focus was on Monet’s famous paintings of his beautiful garden at Giverny in northern France, including his iconic water lily scenes and bridge paintings.
Students learnt about the characteristics of Impressionism, such as the use of light, colour and visible brushstrokes to capture a moment in time. Inspired by Monet’s style, students created their own artworks using pastels to recreate the soft colours and atmosphere seen in his paintings.
The session included French cultural discussions, artwork analysis and creative activities, and Year 9-11 students thoroughly enjoyed discovering how art and French culture connect through Monet’s work.
French Club is held every Monday at lunchtime, and we warmly welcome all students to join us for fun cultural activities, language learning and creativity!

Year 12 Visual Arts Students Learn from Industry Professional
Year 12 Visual Arts students specialising in digital expressive forms were given a valuable creative boost during the recent Major Works Day, thanks to a visit from acclaimed photographer Ken Friberg. Ken generously shared insights into his professional journey, offering students a first-hand look at the realities of working in the photographic industry. He also spent time with individual students, providing guidance, technical advice and thoughtful feedback on their Body of Work projects.
The boys benefited greatly from his expertise, gaining new perspectives and practical strategies to strengthen their artworks as they move toward the final stages of their HSC submissions. This experience was an inspiring reminder of the power of learning directly from practising artists and the rich opportunities that come from engaging with creative professionals.
